The purpose of this review is to recognize and praise Christiana for her wonderful assistance in helping me find the products I needed. Last Sunday, August 11, 2024, I went to the Ulta Beauty store in Upper Arlington, OH. The young woman who greeted me at the door offered to help me find products, as did another person a few minutes later. Although it was reassuring to know there were salespeople around, I wanted to find things myself. However, about ten minutes later I admitted to myself that if I wanted to save time on my shopping expedition, I had better go back to the salespeople. Christiana could tell I was looking for someone, so she cheerfully offered to help me! She seemed knowledgeable about the products I was looking for, and didn’t automatically lead me to the higher priced items. She even showed me eye makeup that she uses, and was able to honestly tell me how long it stays put throughout the day. She remained kind, polite and informative throughout the process. I told her manager how helpful she was to me, and Christiana accepted my compliments humbly + appreciatively. It is my wish and hope that those in upper management will realize how great an employee she is, and will reward her in a meaningful way!!

I was referred to Ulta by multiple friends, although I have never been. In June, I booked an appointment for hair/makeup in September, in preparation for my October wedding, which I also booked an appointment for hair/makeup. Last week, the manager called me and said they had no stylists available for either appointment. I looked on Ulta's website and they have no options available for my wedding date in October at any location, with any stylist. This is incredibly sad and with multiple month's notice, unacceptable. I don't know what i'll do with my wedding now, especially since I thought I had a plan almost 6 months in advance. :(

Wonderful customer service. I needed a lipstick and couldn't remember color name. Francesca looked it up from my acct. The store didn't have my color. She offered to ship it for free, or direct me to a store that had it.

Elderly women who works at the Upper Arlington, OH location, stopped me and my group of friends nothing more than 2 minutes of us being in the store and asked us if we had heard of the “Box Rule.” We had replied, all saying no. She goes on to explain that if we were to open any boxes the workers would get notified and would then know that we stole. So she told us not to open any boxes. This inconvenience made us feel like we were being targeted for stealing because we are young teenage girls. We did not steal, and had no intentions of it. We knew that she thought we were going to steal and we noticed that she checked on us anywhere from 7-10 other times when we were in the store. This being said, we are very aware that stealing is a big issue, but maybe watch out before trying to assume or accuse people when they have done nothing wrong. We know the “Box Rule” does not exist and she was simply trying to scare us.

NOT MUSLIM FRIENDLY! Me and one other woman wear a hijab were shopping together and at every step in the store we were followed and had workers peering over the shelves to look at us. I have been in here MANY times without a hijab and never been treated that way. The staff was also very unfriendly to us when checking on us and very snappy with my friend where she asked where she could find a specific product. Honestly do better cause the behavior was unacceptable and uncomfortable!

I got the brow wax and tint at the benefit bar by Laka and loved the experience. She was very attentive to how I wanted my brows shaped and the natural thickness that I have. She gave me good recommendations for benefit products to use for replicating how she did my brows. I will be coming back to get my brow services done by her and I would recommend booking with her.

If you need help selecting makeup and brands or need a color match, ask for Ava!! She's AMAZING. She's super patient and knowledgeable as well as an absolute delight to work with! She's definitely a pro. You'll see!

It seems like my review never goes through, so I'm updating it again.
It's been two weeks since I dyed my hair, and every time I see it, I feel upset. I booked "all over color" for $77, when we met in person she said I need to change to another $120 plan, I understood and had no complain about it. Initially, I showed the stylist the color I wanted (P1), but she struggled to match it. Eventually, she presented a color that seemed right, and I trusted her to proceed. However, what I ended up with (P2) was far from my expectation, contrasting sharply with my original hair color 5 month ago(P3). (P4) is the color I had 1 week before came to the salon. After the styling, she was so happy with the result. Not wanting to hurt her feelings, I pretended to like it, despite it being nothing like what I wanted (I called later the same day bc the longer I looked my hair the more I hated it. I talked to the manager, she told me there’s nothing they could do at the moment. She also told me that she didn’t know about what I think, but she thought I looked great).
Additionally, when asked if I wanted a haircut, I specified trimming the dead ends without shortening my hair, inquiring about any extra charges. She assured me there wouldn't be any, yet I was later charged an extra $40 for a haircut— as per my booking confirmation which only listed coloring(P5). Moreover, my hair, which previously fell well below my chest, was cut so short that the shortest part (not bangs. Btw, the length of my right bangs is shorter than left)now barely reaches my chest, leaving me bewildered at the definition of "trimming dead ends" used.
A $25 charge for a treatment I wasn't informed about was also added to my bill. Although I didn't oppose the treatment since I would've opted for it anyway. My hair felt like dry grass after finishing dying, a significant deterioration compared to my past experiences with hair dying, which never resulted in such damage. Eventually I paid $185 before tip and tax for this appointment.
I hesitated to write this review, but seeing my hair in the mirror constantly reminds me of the distressing experience, pushing me to the brink of frustration.But I can do nothing, because I know my hair is not healthy enough to go through anything else. This review, posted in the middle of the night, is a testament to my sleepless nights over how unattractive this color looks. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against getting your hair dyed at this place.

As a Platinum member, I don't appreciate being followed and disturbed by 4 employees within the span of two minutes while three white patrons shopped completely uninterrupted. You made what was supposed to be a pleasant afternoon break a miserable experience.

Slowest place ever. Food appeared to be old. Bun hard. Cheese a mess. I keep telling myself that"this time will be different"...never improves. For the same cost I should have gone to Culvers.
