My neighbor asked me to go to the self defense class. I didn’t want to go at first, but I am so glad I did!! The information and techniques were much more useful than I thought. The TKI staff are good people who genuinely care about the community they serve and the people they educate. I’ll be back to the next class and I am bringing my sister and nieces!!

I was introduced to this place via my son’s friend’s birthday party. Right after my 4 year old son wanted to take classes. He has done his second class so far and loves it. Almost certain we will go every day possible! lol Sensei Brown is awesome with the kids and they really look up to him. Highly recommended for kids and even adults.

Sensei Brown is the BEST! He is the perfect mix of fun and engaging as well as tough. The kids learn so much from him, including respect and discipline. All of his other instructors are phenomenal as well. The place is super clean and well run! He offers many other classes and events as well. We drive 30 min to get there but I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

We love TKI! Sensei Brown has been a wonderful teacher, male role model and has taught my son invaluable life lessons of respect, discipline, responsibility and accountability, listening skills, social skills and so much more! I can't say enough about TKI!

TKI is a wonderful dojo and I would not hesitate sending my son there again. Sensei Brown is an amazing instructor and well respected by all. Yes, they do karate, but it is more than just that.

Update: 2023: This will be my daughter's second year, placing 2nd in sparring for PKC in Ohio. She will be going to PKC National tourmemt again this year! My husband and son are now blue belts.Update: 2022: We are on our on our third year with TKI, and our family still loves it! All four of us do karate now and are green belts. My kids and husband are on the competition team and have ranked in the top 10 with the PKC. They participated in the PKC national tournament Labor Day weekend and took home 1st place in Chanbara and sparring, 3rd and 4th in Kata.The Twinsburg Karate Institute is fantastic. My 7 year old and 11 year old have been enjoying their classes for the past few months. My husband decided to join this month as well. Sensei Brown and the other instructors do a great job teaching by making the classes fun and engaging.

My son started taking classes at his preschool when Sensei Brown partnered with them. He loved it and did so well we started at the Institute a couple months ago. Since then, I’ve seen such improvements at home and in school. I love that he’s learning discipline, structure, politeness and life lessons all while having fun! Also, everyone at TKI is wonderful with kids! I’ve already told and recommended TKI to friends and family!

After a very rough start to the school year, with an anxious, sensitive child, we were looking for a place for our 6 year old son to flourish and to gain some confidence. We had tried Karate at a different location previously and unfortunately, we just didn't feel it was the right fit for us. We are SO thankful that our neighbors mentioned Sensei Brown, and implored us to give TKI a try. From the first class, Sensei Brown was engaging, funny, and kind; we immediately felt like part of the TKI family. The facility is more than we could have imagined- spacious with high quality equipment for the children to use; a viewing area for parents to enjoy and watch class. We are especially impressed with the respect, discipline and dedication that is expected from each child. As parents, we appreciate the "Life Lessons" that are incorporated into every lesson- Empathy, Honesty, Integrity, and Discipline. Under Sensei's leadership, these children are quickly on their way to becoming the next productive members of our society. Our son happily goes to Karate 4 times a week and he and I both look forward to it every day.Sensei Brown- you have changed our life for the better and we will never be able to thank you for what you have done for our son. We now have a bright, happy Kindergartener who knows his worth and values himself for exactly who he is. If anyone is questioning: Take the plunge and give TKI a try. Come join this family- you will be so glad that you did!!

My 6 year old son has been going for about 6 months and has learned so much already. I love that they also work on respect and discipline too. My son always has fun in his classes and has gained confidence from going the past 6 mo. We are huge fans of Sensei Brown and TKI, and are recommending them to our friends :)

Hands down one of the best experiences my 5 and 6 year old, very energetic boys could have. Every community would benefit from having a Sensei Brown. He is iconic. How he guides and leads children is a true gift. His manifesto not only aligns with school classroom and traditional sport "expected behaviors," but goes way beyond. Brown and his staff lead by disciplined example. His dojo is his way more than karate; it's a community where leadership, respect, self control, self worth, kindness, social and overall life skills can be witnessed and learned in a safe place. Children will learn the value of earning here, which is hard pressed to find in a society built on "everybody wins" and "instant gratification."

We cannot say enough for the amazing exprience it has been since our 5 year old joined TKI last year in August. Sensei Brown is extremely good with little kids and focuses not just on Karate, but life lessons such as manners, discipline, integrity and respect. We are extremely happy to have found such a nurturing environment for our child and look forward to continue this journey of growth and self development.

My son has been part of TKI for five months and I could not be more happy with his growth. In that short time, even his teacher noticed a positive difference in his focus, confidence, and discipline. Sensei Brown's approach is both fun and structured. Plus, there are so many options for different classes and activities. We highly recommend TKI!
