I found a kitten dying on the sidewalk in front of my house (it may have been hit by a car, was clearly suffering) and when the publicly funded animal shelter refused to take it or do anything other than give me a list of other shelters in faraway counties, I was at a loss. When I passed this animal hospital, I figured I would just see if there was anything they could do, and the receptionist was very compassionate; she realized that the kitten was suffering terribly and immediately offered to take care of it, free of charge. I am so grateful for their willingness to help in that situation, and can tell that they truly care about animals, even poor feral ones.

Our experience with this hospital has been satisfactory over the years. Up until this incident. We took our yorkiepoo, Gracie to see Jason about her heavy breathing and concern about weight loss about 2 weeks ago. We were aware of her heart murmur issue since she was a puppy. We were given pills to help stimulate her appetite. On Tuesday, Aug. 20,her birthday, we took her to be groomed. The groomer called us and said she was having trouble breathing and recommended we take her to the emergency animal hospital in Tipp City, which we did. Unfortunately she died in my wifes arms on the way. Maybe the excitement of being groomed bothered her as yorkies can be a shy breed. We don't know. But we are wondering if there was something Dr. Jason could have done earlier in her life to better monitor her heart issue.

Wow!! Lots of good reviews which surprises me. My parents yorkipoo had been seeing "Dr J", apparently what he is called. She was diagnosed with a heart murmur as a puppy. Never once did he seem concerned . Never once did he tell my parents to monitor her and possibly put her on a medication the older she got. They took her to this Dr last week with a rapid heart beat and lethargy. Still no mention of any kind of plan to help her live her last years. She died in my Moms arms yesterday at age 11. She still could have had a few more good years left with my parents if "Dr J" did his job properly. It is only until after her death that they were told that they should have never taken her there by their groomer who knows his real reputation. Now they are left wondering if they could have done more. If they should have inquired since obviously their vet did not care.

Jason took excellent care of our Labrador, Emma. I know he will do the same for Harper. A nice vet that cares along with his staff. If you need a vet, check out Miami Acres in Troy.

Doctor J and his staff have seen us through many pets. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I especially appreciate that they make such a big to-do over my old dog Woody.

If I could give 10 million stars I would. Doctor J assisted us in putting our 14 year old beloved dog to sleep. We were not current clients; however, he still met us after hours!
