“This place is a hidden treasure! Not as flashy as other chain stores. Baffled there is only one review as I'm looking to buy more jewelery. I NEVER write reviews, but it kept eating at me: I Went here a few years ago for an engagement ring...Heard phenomenal things from a few older friends of mine about how good of a craftsman the younger Thoma(owner's son?) was. I got sick of all the greedy sales tactics when an overpriced jeweler in Troy tried to take advantage of me (I was younger at the time and someone else was with me that can attest) and went to Thoma's. Not only were their prices extremely reasonable, no sales tactics or trying to gouge you... this guy was an absolute master at jewelery. I bought a ring from another jeweler, Bought a diamond from Thoma's (way more reasonable) and had him set it on a rushed timeframe. Delivered on time and every time that ring has gotten checked at other jewelers, they all start off saying "let's just check the prongs, I'm sure they'll need adjusted as it's been so long!"...then "Wow... whoever did this really knew what they were doing!" Lol yes. Yes he did. Thoma was in the middle of crafting a bunch of other custom rings and jewelery at the time when he worked with me. Just a down to earth genius. I haven't been here in years, plan to head there in the next week or so before Christmas. Will definitely update if I do.”
