We highly recommend the Animal Clinic of Troy! We had an emergency situation with our senior dog, Maggie, and her normal vet was out of the office. When I called in, Sarah was very knowledgeable and actually diagnosed her problem just from my description. She worked to get her fit in and was so kind when we arrived. Sarah and Dr. Thorpe helped us make a very hard decision to euthanize Maggie due to her illness. We couldn’t have asked for kinder or more compassionate care for Maggie or for us on a very hard day. We highly recommend Dr. Thorpe, Sarah and Jesse if you’re looking for excellent care for your pet.

Dr. Thorpe, Sarah and Karen all loves their animals and their knowledgement within them and everyone else at the clinic is absolutely amazing and understandable.

I have fortunately not had to actually take my dog here so, I can't actually speak to the quality of the veterinarians ability. With that said I expect top notch based on my experience with the folks I have interacted with. I have been there 3 times to purchase flea pills for my toy poodle. 2 of the 3 times I was fortunate enough to get free samples, which was great cause I like free. They didn't care that I wasn't a "customer" it that I had never been there before. They were just happy to help and answer my questions. Seem to be good people in the business for the right reasons, helping animals... So as I said I expect the vet to be great as well.

Today I took my dog to spayed at this clinic for the second time the first we had to reschedule and this time they canceled it wanting to reschedule again. But they only canceled after my mom had dropped her off. When she picked her up she reeked of urine and was visibly scared which I unusual because my dog is very playful and friendly after seeing this I decided it was best not to get her spayed at this clinic. I had already payed them $100 dollars and I asked for it back and they said no because it was for the surgery which never took place. Which is really ridiculous to me I’m 15 and I work really hard to get the money I have just as everyone else does so that’s why I’m writing this review. So that no one else has to waste money on literally nothing. Stay safe and meet your furry friends safe after reading some of the other reviews I wish I had never even brought my fur baby here

This office has horrible communication skills. If something does get communicated, it's false. Scheduled to drop my dogs off on a day and time the office was closed, and then was told the hours are on the door, so basically it was my fault they didn't tell me they were not open at that time. Lack of communication and or false info was blamed on new people, and that they are so busy they just don't have time. Was told they would groom my dogs for free due to the mix up, yet charged me$110 for for a groom. Would not recommend. They are rude when talking to you on the phone.

We had our dog in for yearly vaccination and nail trim. We got charged 40.00 for nail trim and they didn’t get all his nails but still charged us. We got charged an extra 25.00 for a fractious dog on top of that but yet he had a muzzle on and my husband held him down. Will not be back unless they wanna finish the job they charged us for!

I am writing to say how appreciative we are for Dr. Jennifer Thorpe and the entire staff of the Animal Clinic of Troy. We've experienced this group for 30 some years now and have always found them to be helpful and compassionate. We recently had need of their services for our aging (15+) doxie/scot and they went above and beyond to help us. We can't thank them enough.

Pretty good vets there, been taking my animals there for years. They are a little better in a way, they actually get down to the dogs level to make them more comfortable. My dog is very skittish so admired that. On the other hand, I don't know if I would board my there anymore. Last time I got her home and she couldn't jump onto rear steps or on couch. Worried me she was in cage too long. They don't have dog runs.

I dropped off my dog today at 8am with an ear infection and eye discharge. I have not had good experiences in the past, so I asked if they would call me before treating my Dog. They wrote on the order form and highlighted "call before treatment". I called around 1pm and they said that they treated her already. I went right in to pick her up and along with treating her for her ear, they also gave her an injection for back pain????The sweet receptionist grabbed the nurse and I asked why I wasn't called before treatment. The nurse said " have you ever made a mistake? We are really busy and I can't keep any staff (Red Flag ??since they can not keep anyone on staff there) so I didn't have time to call you". I asked why my puppy was given an injection in the back. The nurse said my dog had pain when the doctor touched her TL (lower back). My puppy is 9 months old and I would never ask for this shot, and that is why I asked to be called before any treatment. The nurse went in the back after I voiced my concerns and I paid the bill with the receptionist. The nurse came back out and said "here are your records, take them to another Vet. You are not welcome here"She then walked in the back and slammed the door. In disbelief, I asked her to come back out. She did not come back but the groomer, Brittany came out instead (she has had no part of this process) and said we have a right to choose who we want as our patients. I questioned them for not calling me before treating my dog, and they dismissed me. I can not believe this is a running establishment. The unprofessionalism I witnessed today is embarrassing to the community. Dr. Thorpe should feel ashamed for having her customers treated this way by her assistant. Please go to ANY Vet besides this one!

I took my dog there for boarding and they really did a good job with her. They went above and beyond. I only take my pup here for boarding.
