Today marks the anniversary of my mother’s passing in 2023. While in hospice and prior to her passing, I went to 5th3rd to ensure (for the 2nd time) that checking and savings account was in order and there would be no problems at time of death. I was the POA, and ultimately the executor/trustee. I provided a copy of the trust (for the 2nd time) which indicated clearly that 100% of the assets were in the trust which included the checking and savings account and was ensured that we were all set. After her passing, I provided the death certificate and related information as instructed to close the account and was then bluntly notified that 5th3rd did not in fact make the Trust the beneficiary which I was ensured repeatedly that everything was accurate and “we were all set”. Knowing their mistake, it was a challenge to get them to return my calls and work with me; ultimately advising that there was nothing they could do. Real Estate transfers and everything else went smoothly the way the trust was designed…..except for 5th3rd. Their omission has resulted in the accounts being locked, me personally paying out of pocket for final expenses and of course probate. Exactly 12 months from her passing, I’m still dealing with attorneys, the County and the State of Ohio all because of not property listing the correct beneficiary that would have take a few seconds. These past 12 months should have been an opportunity for grieving but instead I’m dealing with the ramifications of their oversight and orchestrating a complete circus that never should have happened.

Not what it used to be, this branch has fallen off over the last 2 years. Used to be quick friendly service, the last 2 times at this location I've driven all the way to the Westchester location instead. Tellers had 0 interest in helping me close a credit account while I waited 15 minutes for a teller in the empty lobby. The westchester branch location had me taken care of within 3 minutes at the front desk. Did not even need a teller room.

Once again, Brittany spent time reviewing several family accounts and making terrific recommendations - always a pleasure and very comforting to know there is a banker just a short distance away who is so knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Thank you 5/3!

Worse customer service! Had us sit there for 40 minutes to see about adding someone to account and finally got up and left!

I always have great experience when I come into this bank. I hate dealing with the 1-800 numbers so I always prefer to go to the branch. Mollie is always great. Very helpful. Aaron, the bank manager, has always been more than willing to work with me on anything I've ever needed. Really cool dude and very professional.

I received a business check from one of Fifth Third Bank's business customers today and took the check into the bank to cash it. I presented the check to the teller with my driver's license and even offered my thumb print. The supervisor said the bank first needed to create a "profile" of me before cashing the check. She asked for my social security number, which I offered, but then said Fifth Third Bank would charge me $32 to cash their own check! Of course, this was all a ploy to get me to open an account with their bank, which they tried to do saying that if I opened an account there would be no fee. Like that will ever happen. I know it was cold outside today, but that is no excuse for Fifth Third to be putting their hands in my pockets! It is simply unethical to cooerce people into joining their cabal by charging them for not joining. Refusing to cash their own check without such an exorbitant fee is shameful. I walked. I can only imagine what other schemes Fifth Third Bank practices to nickel and dime their customers. There are lots of banks who don't try to screw over average people. I plan to look elsewhere for my banking needs. You would be well served to do likewise. Good luck.

I went here awhile ago to deposit a settlement check I received for about 130,000.00. This "bank" proceeds to decline my check and hold it for a week to investigate that I'm not committing some kind of fraud. I was furious to say the least. I'm glad I went to First Financial. They took my check, helped me open up a checking and savings account and I've been happy with them ever since. 5/3 is not a good bank. And that's an improper fraction. I don't care what your hollow motto is. If you were 166% service you wouldn't have so many customer complaints. And you treat customers like criminals.

Do not go to this bank. I went there on the date of February 21 at approximately 5:15PM to get change. When I got to the counter I told the teller that I needed 10 dollars worth of pennies. Now I don't know why they don't exchange currency at a bank but I guess they dont. He then proceeded to interrogate me on my intention for such a request only to remind me as I left that they do not exchange currency at a bank. Don't know why he could change cash for coin or why he needed to now why I personally needed change but don't go here.
