Thrift Stores in Toledo, OH

“This place is great. I love having somewhere to donate that isn't affiliated to a company I don't like or a religion. The money goes to helping animals and the people that help them and the prices are incredibly fair. Its a proper thrift store that hasn't been sorted for the good stuff to go online and they even have a small section for party supplies and crafts that I can let my kiddo grab from. I wish I could comment on other reviews just being bad customers and not customer service because I've only ever experienced (myself or witnessed) excellent customer service from the friendly staff.”

“There are always sales going on! I rarely pay more than $15-20 a visit. The staff are very kind and helpful. This store in particular also has a better men's selection than other competitors, and a very nice selection of shoes!”

“I often visit this Salvation Army since it is in a very convenient location. Half of the store is half off every day due to their rotating color tag discount system. They have lots of merchandise but it's generally not super high quality. There are lots of Walmart grade brands, but I have found cool stuff, for example a vintage dirndl skirt from West Germany that is stunning in design and quality. The workers are friendly and the store is spacious and easy to navigate, albeit kind of dusty and musty sometimes. As with any thrift shop, it's a hit-or-miss experience but it's fun to look around.”

“This is the first review I have ever posted. This thrift store is so great the staff needs to know how great of a job they are doing!!! Thank you for your outstanding organization and care in what you are doing, it is so much appreciated! Very good selection of good quality items for a good price as well. If I could give this location more stars I would!”

“I actually really love this store because they put out really great clothing and the rails come out frequently. Buggies are hit and miss but that I think is down to staffing and lack of donations. The store is always clean and well presented with some amazing staff who take pride in their work and making the customers feel welcomed because they know us by face and by name as we shop so frequently and they have served so many years there.

As with many shoppers I spend a lot of time in the store to find the best bargains and wait for things coming out. I do this here and elsewhere and I spend a LOT of money across all the stores in the area.

What lets this store down is the cashiers and the sly back handed comments about what I have found to buy on any given day, several times trying to not sell me what I have picked up because they ‘need to ask the manager’ about the price (when a price is on it), or they think it might have gone out by accident as if should be ‘for ShopGoodwill’. This has actually been something that has happened on a few occasions over years not months. It is why of the Goodwill stores I do frequent, I go here the least.

I have let this slide a long time but after speaking to several other people I have found that it is not just me this happens to but that doesn’t make it any better it is actually worse. The comments I got last week had me enraged and I politely paid and left but I was furious. The implication was that because I had a reasonably good day finding things (i think I picked up 6 items that day, 3 that I caught from a fresh buggy) she basically asked how I ‘knew’ to shop that day as i seemed to have ‘got lucky’ inspecting the items. Bearing in mind I have lost count of the times I have walked in and waled out buying nothing and she has seen that too (and commented as I left).

Resellers are not the enemy. We spend a lot of money in your stores and do not need to be shamed for how we make a living. They probably spend more than any other shoppers especially since the pandemic. There is an abundance of donations and all the really great items are already pulled out and never see the floor. We have the same access as everyone else with slightly more patience to wait around for it. We live in hope for the odd treasure to slip through.

Likewise those who have less money do not need to be having a full on debate in front of a line of people about the price of soft toys because more and more items that were previously ‘set’ prices seem to be individually priced now. I have seen this happen multiple times basically implying they switched the tags.

Shopping there so much I see way more than I say here. If you are going to complain about paying customers (and your colleagues) at least be discreet. Rather than worrying so much about those who PAY for their goods and following them around the store making them feel uncomfortable, worry about the vast amount of theft because I guarantee that amounts to way more than I spend.”

“Everything in this store is always clean, and there’s a huge selection for everyone. The staff are an absolute joy, I’ve had negative experiences with employees at other thrift stores but that has never been the case here. We are always welcomed right away with friendly faces. I wish more men would donate jeans - that’s the only thing I’ve ever lacked finding here ? clothes are super fairly priced and there’s very often sales of at least 50% off either certain color tags or entire seasons. Go check it out!”

“I have an Individual thatI work with that needs limited help in daily life activities. I watch the staff at the Reynolds Goodwill make him feel very comfortable when he us at work. I witness the staff at Goodwill work tirelessly to keep the store clean and sanitized, organized as prices items at a fair value. I have seen very dedicated, hardworking and friendly staff at the Reynolds Goodwill than the many Goodwill stores that I have attended. I will NOT HESITATE to refer anyone to shop at this location.”
