Would give zero stars if I could. They neglected my mom's corgi and didn't give him his meds and made him miserable. Also he had diarrhea from all the stress and anxiety and got the poop on himself and they said they clean him up....never did and mom picked him up covered in poop.... He is traumatized at home now and always wants to be by my mom's side and if she leaves or shuts door without him in room he howls and cries now.....so thanks Sylvania vet a lot.
Also had bad experience with my puppy 3 years ago hence why I never went back...
"Really disappointed in this place :( My boyfriend and I went on vacation this past week and had our puppy Ava stay there 5 nights and when I dropped her off I explained that she needed special food which I brought because her kibble she was currently on was most likely giving food allergy so she needed this add on pumpkin every feeding to prevent very loose stool and when we got back from vacation would be transitioning to new food and I believe after 2 nights they stopped feeding Ava her pumpkin mix and she started having very loose stool again...they completely ignored my request and my poor baby was probably miserable and it seriously upsets me. I even brought an extra can of the pumpkin and they didn't even use it which tells me they didn't even feed her right amount I told them too in first place cuz as of this morning after feeding her how I told them too Ava has had normal poops or on way to have soild poop again! Seriously not happy and will never be boarding here again :("
Do better. Seriously. My family will never come back after this neglect to an already once severely abused dog and traumatized him even more and set him back now. My mom has worked so hard with him and this is huge setback due to your neglect of my family dog.

They worked well with my dog. He has allergy and they recommended lots of diet changes. Better than other vets I have been in Toledo. Honest pricing and they consult you in every step they are making in the process. I would recommend them

Place has gone downhill since Dr. Bob retired and sold out to VCA. I've been going to Sylvania vet since 1991, when it was a small practice and loved Dr. Epslin. He was a great vet, as was his staff. Since he sold to VCA and retired the prices have increased unbelievably. Really iritated me, the I was a customer for over 30 years and took my cat in for surgery and they required me to pay 50% off when I dropped him off. This wasn't the kind of care I received when Dr. Bob was in charge.

Note: We used Sylvania Vet to board our two cats, so this review does not address the facility's veterinary or doggy day-care services. That said, these people did an exemplary job, from the initial phone call all the way through the time I picked the cats up after we returned from vacation. Since this is the first time we boarded our cats at Sylvania Vet, we needed to make sure in advance that they were up-to-date on their vaccinations. While other boarding facilities leave this to the customer to handle, Sylvania Vet went ahead and called our veterinarian and confirmed what vaccines were needed. And when our own veterinarian did not notify Sylvania Vet once the vaccines were administered, Sylvania Vet themselves, rather than making me follow up, called our veterinarian and confirmed the updated vaccinations. Both of our cats, further, are on medications. Since Sylvania Vet, unlike standard boarding facilities, has actual veterinary technicians on site, administering the medications (not always easy with cats) was not a problem. In short, first-rate service from start to finish, all at prices competitive with other facilities.

ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES IVE HAD IN A VET. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. we brought two of our dogs in for stomach issues and all they could care about was worrying about the dogs getting spayed/neutered. they were more concerned about that than anything. one of our dogs is pregnant, and all they could care about was getting her spayed and not the actual reason we were there. if it wasn't for "breeding" they wouldn't be in business. hands down the worst clinic we have ever been to. DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL HERE

Since the business was bought by VCA, care is subpar at best. I had taken our dog there for 16 years so I have seen first hand, the change in practice. They insist on taking your dog out of the exam room to do everything (shots, exams, etc) which should not happen. How do I know if a shot or treatment was done? I can handle seeing my dog get a shot or have blood drawn - so I'm not sure the reasoning. They did seem to treat my dog kindly though but who knows what happens when they leave. Also, you never see the actual vet. The diagnosis/treatment, etc is relayed via the tech after they return with your dog. Twice I had to ask to speak with the doctor personally. This practice standard needs to be changed by VCA!! I am sure it is done this way to save on staffing costs which speaks for itself. When my dog had her leg casted for a broken leg, we had to return twice to have it re wrapped because it was painful for her. The second time, I went into the hospital area myself to watch them do it. Not sure they liked me being back but I didn't care - it is my dog and I am paying for it Then, the last chapter. Sadly, we had to euthanize her this week. Did not want to take her there but this was the only place she knew. They put her leg IV in for the meds. We called in the doctor when we were ready. The doctor administered the first shot - a sedative to sedate her before the second shot that stops her heart. Well - she's wide awake after the first shot!! Apparently the IV came out. So, they took her back to put in another. 10 mins later, the tech comes to the room to tell us that they have to put it in her back leg which takes longer so it will be a bit. 10 more minutes later, I am fed up. I go into the treatment room and can hear my dog is whining. Two techs are holding her down while the other is still putting in the IV. Can you imagine this is all happening while we are so grief stricken? Finally they bring her to the room. I am holding her as the vet puts in the sedative which looked like a high amount for our 4 lb dog. Suddenly our dog begins having a huge seizure. I said to the vet that she's having a seizure and her response was that it was just a reaction to the sedative. I knew she was dead then even before the second med to stop her heart. The whole euthanasia in my opinion was poorly executed and my dog did suffer. Very very sad ending for her with a place she got received great care before VCA took over. NEVER EVER go there with your pet.

They took care of our concerns without an appointment. It was an emergency and after checking Ellie, the results made us feel better. No more incidents. She goes back home tomorrow.Thank you for your care.

Gave me miss information about the prescription that was to be mixed in with the food that was being prescribed. If they would have given me the correct info I would not have purchased because I had tried it in the past and my dog did not like it (told me it was unflavored). They would not return unused packets because it was a scrip. An apology does not help when you just wasted your money and they do not give you any resolution for their error.

Always kind, caring and careful with my cat Hazel! Since I have to take her every 4 to 6 weeks, it is very important to me. Oh, they are pretty nice to me too!
