Clearly this place employs unempathetic people that will defend their lame decisions above acknowledging any wrongdoings. Despite mentioning that there’s a law prohibiting any employees from restricting the restroom access for people with medical conditions branch manager kept being rude. Then upon requesting to withdraw $6700 they sent me to another branch because the most they can provide is $3000. Do yourselves a favor and bank with a normal bank that has courtesy and employs empathetic people. This place is a run down dump, hence the 2.8 stars

Worst banking experience I have ever had - from start to finish (not long, a month-ish from account opening). I opened this account hoping it would be easy and relatively ok to use daily. The main issue I had besides the app not working well consistently was that my brand new card abruptly stopped working. No warning, no information, nothing. No reason as to why it didn’t work. Just constant declines while out and about - Apple Pay said to call Citizens, the app wasn’t even able to tell me my card was not working. The wait time for the customer service was over an hour consistently - eventually I gave up and called the next morning. I called a local branch the next morning because I got hung up on by this (Strongsville) branch location three times. The branch I called could not explain my issue, said on their end it seemed like my card should function and said to come in, so I came to this branch location. The lady told me I had probably put my pin in wrong and that’s why my card was now unusable - ok, cool, even if I did (the charges declined on pin-less transactions but either way - I feel like it should have been easier to find this out?) - the lack of communication and overall stress was more of my issue. A resolution earlier would have been appreciated esp when I went two days overall without access to my funds - luckily I could deal with this so I didn’t sprint to a branch the first day, but it was stressful. I walked in ready to close the account - that went okay, except the security authentication for me to withdraw and close my account was only that I swipe my card & input my pin (the same card/pin that didn’t work - the pin pad said my card could not be read - altho I tried every type of transaction the day prior to try to access my funds - mobile, Apple Pay, physical card, etc) - no security authentication of any other kind (ID, charge verification, questions) besides this to withdraw all of my funds. Nothing to verify my identity and that I was the owner of the card. I just find it absurd that you would ask me to use the pin (that supposedly doesn’t work) or the card that I’m having issues with to close the account and take my cash without any other security measures - nothing to verify that the debit card used was MINE other than the fact that I could input the pin. Maybe I’m wrong about that - but either way, the overall situation was handled poorly from start to finish. I was also a bit disappointed to have no semblance of an apology or any type of empathy shown by any of the members of citizen staff I interacted with - that would have helped to make me feel slightly better about this, but I can’t say I expected anything. Even if the card was somehow messed up by the pin, I got no type of reassurance that this doesn’t happen often or even that they are sorry that I had no way to access money. I find the whole situation unacceptable - and I’m dissatisfied but more importantly I worry for anyone who banks at this location & Citizen overall - I hope your experience will be better than mine, but mine was unacceptable. Would absolutely NOT recommend this bank or branch.

This bank is very unprofessional with arguing over the phone with their customers. There’s only one person there that I have dealt with that is decent. Other than that I am not going back.

Hillary is rude and doesnt like to help disabled people get their account balance. I tell her 800 number doesn't work for me and she rudely keeps saying she can give me the 800 number. The other branch always does and is friendly if the bank app is experiencing errors.
