We recently moved from Maine to New Mexico using Atlas Van Lines to complete the move. Atlas contracted Custom Movers Services to crate my grandfather clock because of its high value. The crating process was expertly done (we were witness to the crating). However, when we arrived at our new home, the clock was uncrated (by representatives of Custom Movers Services) and the floor of the clock was totally separated from the rest of the clock. We filed a claim with Custom Movers Services but it was denied because, "there was no damage to the crate and that the grandfather clock arrived in great condition" even though the floor has become dislodged. If the clock has been properly crated, then why would the clock floor be separated during the move? The moving company will not honor a damage claim because they did not pack the item. It cost me almost $1000 for the special crating and when I mentioned that to CMS they said that, "they didn't receive any of my money!" Of course they didn't receive my money directly - Atlas paid them and I paid Atlas. Have you ever heard of anything as ridiculous as that for an excuse! Just be careful if your moving company contracts this company to move your high value items - not only are you taking a chance that the item will be damaged, you will probably not receive any compensation for the damage that occurred. Buyer Beware!!

University Moving in Whitestown, IN works with CMS a lot. Yesterday, Tim Kohnen came to our warehouse to do some crating. He did a fantastic job. He even came out last week to get measurements so he could begin building the crates over the weekend. I would highly recommend Tim and CMS!!

Excellent team to work with. Strong communication about the status of the move and Katy was brilliant to work with. An exceptional, hassle free move with nothing even scratched or broken.

If you want a stress free move- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are condescending and unreliable. My moving company used them as the third party for disassembly at our old home and assembly in our new home. Both experiences were negative and it looks like all their other reviews are negative as well (except for one, which I bet they wrote themselves). Their employees did not complete the work at either location and lied about the condition our items arrived in. We have moved several times and have never had such a negative experience as we did with this company. They did not take accountability for any of the damage they caused. We have had items crated before and never broken as bad as we have seen during this move. Please take all these reviews into account before hiring them. Hopefully they go out of business before they ruin someone else’s moving experience.

These two instances were the two best aspects of our recent move from Battlefield Missouri to Jacksonville Florida! The two people who prepared our grandfather clock for moved arrived on time and did their work swiftly and very professionally! There work paid dividends as our clock arrived in tack and free from any scratches or nicks. The team that came to put our grandfather clock back together again arrived on time and went about their business very professionally. Again, the grandfather clock technician wore white gloves during his recovery process of getting the clock back and running! They were tedious and informative as they went about their work. Before they left, they made sure that we had no questions about their service and even reminded me of the proper way to wind the clock and how to adjust its mechanism if the clock runs a little fast or slow. Thank you to your company for what they did for us! I only wish the remainder of our move had gone as smoothly! But that, unfortunately, is another story for another company.

Absolutely awful. If I could give them a negative star review, I would. I hired them through Morse Movers for a local move from East Lansing, MI, to Grand Ledge, MI. The services They were contracted for where-Prepping a baby grand piano for the move/disconnect and reconnect a washer and dryer and disassemble and reassemble three sleep number beds. The first sign this would not go well, the tech showed up and knew nothing about the piano, although it was clearly marked in inventory and was included in the movie. The washer and Dryer disconnect went well. The reconnect needed a newer plug for the dryer. My wife purchased the plug the same morning of the install per the tech, and Morse charged us $90, even after we purchased the plug. I'm more than ok paying for expertise so, I didn't balk at the cost initially. Second sign. Now, if you've ever moved, you know how critical and essential it is to get your beds up. We established with the moving co. that we needed to delay the movement of the beds until the last day of this four-day move so that they could deliver and set up the beds on the same day and we would have a place to sleep. We went over this several times to make sure this was clearly understood. The Morse moving team, which was exceptional and deserving of a million stars, was at our home punctually by 8 am each day. On the last day of our move, the day to get the beds broken down, The CMS tech showed up at 940, an hour and 40 minutes after the Morse Moving team arrived, broke down the bed, finished loading the rest of our belongings, and had already arrived at our new home. The CMS tech arrives at the new house, installs the washer and dryer. He goes to reassemble the bed, asks one of the movers where the parts are; the mover honestly says he hasn't a clue and, the CMS tech doesn't tell me or ask me about the parts, nor does he ask the Driver who is the head of the moving team. He asks one person and then leaves. He leaves without speaking to anyone in authority about the parts for the bed and leaves without telling either the Driver or myself that he's leaving. The day is getting late, and the movers are just about bringing stuff in and arranging our furniture. I learn that the CMS tech left hours earlier, and the beds are still in pieces in their respective rooms. The Driver calls dispatch to find out when he's coming back, and we learn he won't be back until Thursday. It's Tuesday. I am boiling. What do you mean he won't be back until Thursday!?! I call Morse Moving, and they are of zero help. Here we are in our new home with no beds, precisely the problem we were looking to avoid. Again, the Morse moving team, the best guys around, appreciated their service and backbreaking work. Tipped them each well and are grateful for all they did. Morse office staff is a different animal altogether. Here we are, a family of five with a 180lb Newfoundland and a mother-in-law dealing with Alzheimer's, all with no place to sleep. I call Morse, and they're "very sorry" but not able to offer any help. One person even gets smart with me on the phone and says she can't do anything while she's talking to me, and I'll hear from them in the morning...Really. We all know that money talks, so as I couldn't get any satisfaction from them after having paid $10K+ for this move, I decided the only way I could get their attention and to have them move with some urgency on my behalf was to stop payment on the check which I did. Surprise! I get a call from CMS Agent -Rochelle, who ultimately comps my family for three rooms in a local hotel for two days as they cannot get anyone out to assemble my beds. There's nowhere to board a 180lb dog last minute so, I sleep on the floor/couch with him in the new house for seven days. Yeah, the story continues. So, the CMS Tech returns and assembles my bed and my son's bed. My daughter's bed remained undone. The CMS Tech says he needs some pieces but not a problem; he'll get them and be back t

Never use this service at all. Very lousy and terrible job plus sky rocketing charge. They are supposedly servicing the disassembly and moving our piano but not even half way through of the job was done. They left everfor the movers to finish the disassemble and charge you as if the job is completely done. When you question them of the charges, they are so arrogant and very insisting. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY AND THEIR SERVICE! There are more reputable anddependable. Not recommended!

The Custom Moverrs Services team was exceptional in every way. Their customer service was top notch and kept me informed of every step along the way from scheduling through the actual work through the final invoice. The team was professional, competent, and efficient as they worked to assist me. They also asked for feedback and were in constant contact. They seem to be a company that cares about the quality of their work and the experience of their customers. Highly recommend them!

This company is the dregs of the dregs. Why does anyone use them? They came out to attach a dryer vent line. They could not attach it properly so they used duct tape to tape it to the wall which fell off after a few days. When they came out to fix it the " installer" who used the tape said, " I knew that tape would not hold." Really. They left without doing anything claiming that we damaged the attachment - which we did not touch. Horrible!

We paid these guys to hook up dryer vent after a recent move. They did not have the expertise or hardware to do it right, so they just duct taped the vent line to the wall. It fell off after a few days and we called them to come back out. when they came out the "technician" said "I knew that tape wouldn't hold. Instead of fixing the problem they took pictures and claimed that we damaged the attachment ourselves and then left without doing anything. The customer service rep just talked over my wife on the phone when she was explaining what happened and she had to hang up on them. Useless company.
