I got a road kill deer and needed a knife, and I got to Walmart at almost 12, but the guy gave me the evil eye and said they were closed even though they had doors open. So I called this lady and she opened the door for me even though it's way outside of the normal business hours, so I'd have to give her a five star rating on that alone for this small hunters paradise in Sterling Ohio. She also showed me around the store and was knowledgeable about her knives. So if you are needing help about your hunting equipment, give this lady a shout or stop in! Tell her Amish Joe send you!

When I first arrived in Wayne County Ohio back in 2008, none of the department stores or farm supply stores carried firearms and very few carried ammo or cleaning supplies. There were three firearm shops in the entire county, and this was the only one that refused to deal in used weapons. Hunter's Cove is small, dirty, focused on bowhunting rather than firearms, and has a wider knife selection than firearm selection. Nonetheless, they do have a decent selection of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. Ammo is hit or miss. Sometimes they have a very full inventory, sometimes the ammo shelves are almost bare. Basically the only cleaning supplies they carry are Remington and Hobb's and the selection is somewhat limited. Every year for the past ten years the owners have talked about closing up shop and retiring, yet they keep on going. The oddest little hunting supply shop I have ever seen.
