My experience with H&R Block has been frustrating, irritating and very stressful since I became POA for my son and done his taxes on Feb. 2024 at the Springfield Ohio Main Street H&R Block. The lady that done his taxes asked if I wanted his taxes direct deposited, I said no just to send a check to me cause he is incarcerated. He has no account of any kind. So she finished and I paid up front fees for his taxes to be done. Well on January 6th they were supposedly direct deposited into an unknown account. Been calling the IRS with no help and H&R Block with no admittance to fault at the time. I had to get a Federal POA for my son just to talk to the IRS which I just finally got in June with still nothing from either side. IRS did tell me it was put in that unknown account and it was a South Dakota account. My son has never even been to South Dakota let alone have an account there for any reason. Now, IRS has it under investigation and could take up to another 90 days to wait on his money. All H&R Block now wants to do is reimburse the fees I paid in advance. I want the tax money too, I feel we have waited long enough and the fault lays in the hands of H&R Block on Main Street in Springfield Ohio and that they need to make this right.
My next step if things do not get resolved soon will be go to an attorney.

Just dint go to an hr block they don't tell whole truth And may get a different color based on skin color

Prices and fees were not told until the very end while signing away on a million papers promising them that you can't sue them. It's much cheaper to do your taxes yourself, turbo tax estimated I'd get the same amount back, but I was told h&r could get more, nope they did not. And charged hundreds to do it.

My husband has been using H & R Block for a few years now.. we love that we get the same tax preparer every year. Julie has been ours and she makes the process quick, simple, and not so complicated. We get pretext appointment scheduled weeks in advance , don't even have to call and make any. It's convinced and scheduled at the perfect time, it's like they knew the right dates our W2s arrive. If you choose to use them ask for Julie she is good at her job and makes sure you get every cent owed as well as being very organized ☺️.
