I recently spoke with Chase Vidra at the Springdale, Ohio location. We bought some studs to finish our basement back in February. We were down in the basement this past week and noticed some bugs. Out of concern, we contacted a pest control company. The inspector came out, and said that this wood had been contaminated from the lumber yard by Powder Post Beetles, which do the same thing as termites. We now are going to be out $600 for them to come spray the basement where they don’t spread to other areas of the house.Chase has been horrible at communication, and I have to call him multiple times a day. I called him yesterday and he said he had called the pest inspector and didn’t get ahold of him. We called the pest inspector right after I hung up with Chase and the inspector didn’t answer. The inspector called us back ten minutes later and said Chase had just called him and that was who he was on the phone with. He also said that was the first phone call he got from Chase.Chase then asked for me to send the quote from the pest company in an email. I sent this yesterday afternoon and never heard back from him. I called him this morning and he said he would need more information and would probably need multiple quotes from different pest control places. Well guess what, these are bugs that eat wood, we have to get them treated right away. So the spray is happening today!!!! I can’t get more quotes or let any more time go without getting these treated.Very very poor customer service and bad quality wood as well. Don’t buy from this location!!!

I was a potential customer who wanted to spend up to $5000 on a deck project. I called and found out that I needed to give them a sketch and dimensions of my existing deck and how I wanted to expand it. Stopped by and gave all of my contact info and deck dimensions. I was told that it took 2 days to get an email of a drawing and lumber list. I waited 5 days and called to find out the status of the drawing so I can submit it to obtain a building permit. Nice lady asked who I spoke to and I didn’t know. The csr never told me his name. She took my name and number and said she would call me back with information and that I should be getting the info soon. That was 3 days ago. I really wanted quality lumber for this deck. I know 84 Lumber will survive without my money. However, this review may save someone else the aggravation of wasting their time and go somewhere that will follow through their commitment. edit to my post TYLER!!! Thank you for you great customer service and seeing the problem at hand and fixing it!May 21st I called this store and spoke to Manny. Seemed very legit. WAS I WRONG! There was a miscommunication is what I needed and ended up leaving me charged twice for lumber. I was promised by Manny that ALL OF THE MONEY ON THE FIRST charge would be refunded. Here we are June 8th and I had to call the store now 3 times, spoke to a Zach which has no clue what is going on at all, to get some of what I should of been refunded. Now I get the excuse so they can over charge me for lumber that a deliver fee has been added to my order of $154!!! who would pay $154 for delivery. I know I would not of every agreed to this I have a truck i would of went and picked it up myself for that!!! EVERY place I called for quotes has delivery fees any where from $30 - $50 which is expected. Also what I was told! Also Zach's math doesn't add up. I was charged a little over $696 (which should of ALL been refunded) plus another 599.68 totaling 1295.68. Total charge with their over charged deliver fee is 753.68. If my calculator is right I should of been refunded at least $542 please tell me why I am only getting $531 back. Maybe Zach has a good reason for this also.

I am building a deck and was going to purchase everything from 84 lumber. They told us it would take 2 days to get a quote because they had to send our deck dimensions to corporate for a quote on a composite deck... Well, its been 2 months and numerous phone calls and every time they tell us they will call us back they NEVER do. I assume they just don't want business. Not only has this location gave us the run around but we also went to a different 84 lumber in the area and they did the same thing to us after we told them our experience with this place. Lost our business...
