I arrived at Solon Ace about 20 minutes before close on July 3rd. Needed bolts & nuts. Someone came over to assist and very patiently helped me gather the specific sizes I needed but just had not been able to find. At checkout I realized that the store had been closed for almost 15 minutes - on a day before a holiday, no less. Yet no one mentioned a word about it, and no one tried to rush me out of the store. No announcement over the PA. Just a couple guys who I'm sure wanted to get out of there and go home, but who helped me out like I was the most important person on the planet. These guys are professional, patient, and kind. They will always have my business - though I'll try not to push it to closing time next time.

I drive out of my way to buy from this location. There are ACE hardware stores closer to me, but this one has a much better stock when it comes to lawn care products. The guy usually working in the lawncare section (I think may be the owner?) is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Some of their prices may be a slightly higher than other places but worth the extra cost to get good customer service and a clean and well organized facility.
After lots of research, I switched to only using Jonathan Green lawn products and the Solon Ace Hardware carries a very wide selection and has good inventory of Jonathan Green products.
Worth the drive, every time!

craftsmen tools are guaranteed for life from any store where they sell craftsmen tools, other ACE stores said they would guarantee my tool THIS STORE WOULD NOT HONOR CRAFTSMEN'S TOOLS

I am only rating their ability to mix Benjamin Moore paint correctly. After several samples in which they DO NOT match the swatch; they don't even bother to give you a painted swatch after they make up your paint sample like professional stores do. You know, to make sure the paint matches???? The problem I think is in the tint. It looks like they are adding the tint part manually and haphazardly at best. The colors always turn out wrong and literally NEVER match my swatch. Save yourself the headache and drive the extra miles to PaintCLE Benjamin Moore on Chagrin. Their whole process is automated, no willy-nilly tint guessing like here. Spot on every time and you can get two samples for free on Fridays.
