It's not too bad, if you're just doing a quick grocery shopping and get home faster

Nice half updated little store. They have most of the things you need on a whim. Prices are high. Since it became Sweethaven in recent years owners have been updating the store very slowly.Sweethavens biggest flaw is prioritizing to the tourists & welfare community. Shreve, OH isn’t a wealthy community. Public Assistance benefits many of the residents. After waiting a couple years for Sweethaven to become productive it became apparent to those of the community Sweethaven chose to mostly stock name brand items & excessively raise their prices on those items. The campers from Jellystone Park Campground only a few miles out of town are most likely use to it.The most immense issue is 90% of name brand marketers sell the off brand items. It’s obvious the options are there if you’re buying from the same company. They choose not to stock off brands from the name brand company. Not having a choice other than drive 20+ minutes to a Walmart or Meijer is ridiculous.I might be more generous & understanding if the store looked like a Old Town General Store out of a magazine. Reality is it looks like complete chaos. Money’s been dumped into exterior appearances, automatic doors, & a “breakfast nook” where you can pay even higher prices for convenient items. All items you can grab in a gas station. Coffee, donuts, energy drinks, juice.Sweethaven still has all the old shelves, frozen foods are held in residential chest freezers, old check out conveyor belts & cash registers, & the once white floor 70 years ago; now turned cigarette stained yellow.Furthermore & lastly, when I made the cashier aware of being out of off brand items she went from happy giggly to stating “yeah okay” in a sharp short tone. She rang up my items & shoved them into a bag like it was the hardest task she’s performed by Wednesday. Is it her problem, not completely. Does she talk to her boss in a small town store? Daily. Should a grocery attendant know when items need restocked? Absolutely! Maybe employees hear it all the time. So what. That’s employment working with the public. Don’t be ignorant about it. Do something about it.When you come to a small town & shop at the stores you shouldn’t be greeted with a Neglecting General Retail Attitude. You should be greeted in same manor as the Hospitality Industry.

Great store, I work nearby and grab lunch regularly. Betty in the deli is awesome and Lesley at the register always has a smile on her face.

This is the most awesome little market. I was driving through the area and heard Sweethaven’s radio ad. I thought I had to stop! And it’s right on the main road through Shreve. Wide selection of products from laundry goods to snacks to their deli options. The cashier was wonderfully friendly too. I was thrilled to support this local business
