POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES WATCH OUT!!!
very long story short the Venetian Marina holdings company HOYT hired a private contractor to do some work on the water main in the street and the contractor left the water main unfinished with about an ankle deep 4 foot wide cut in the street. They absolutely should have marked it and put a steel plate on it but they did neither. Unfortunately It caused MASS damages to my vehicle totally roughly $11,000 in damages. (The car basically fell into the hole at 25mph slammed the front wheels into the lip and compressed the front end so hard it cracked the headlights. luckily no airbags deployed) The Marina whom hired the contractor REFUSED to provide me contact information for the contractor (we all have insurance for these things right?) so I had to call the city and figure out who pulled permits for work and guess what they did! Then they hired a contractor called KJK mechanical to do the work, who then subletted the work to another company called Hayward rigging. All 3 parties refuse to take responsibility for it and point fingers at each other but refuse to help me in any way. KJC says Hayward did the job wrong, Hayward says he has no idea what I’m talking about he didn’t touch that job, and the Marina claims it was my fault for driving so recklessly it put their workers in danger (which is not true but they claim they have a camera but refuse to provide it) and I have witnesses that say otherwise.
The construction has since been finished and I’m working to fix the car myself at this point so the moral of the story has nothing to do with my car but the simple fact that these companies have some shady business practices to hide themselves from any financial responsibilities when things go wrong. And had someone hit that on a motorcycle the wrong way or air bags deployed someone could have been killed or seriously injured.

20 plus year member. I called service about changing the oil in my outboards, after 3 weeks of no returned calls. I decided to change the oil myself. I wanted service to pull my 20 foot boat and put it in a rack for two hours so I can change the oil. The service manager told me it would be 400 dollars to pull my boat with the fork lift. It would be cheaper for the marina to change the oil, but they can’t accommodate. This is not a full service marina. If you don’t have the staff to run a full service marina then don’t advertise as such. Rack storage customers boats are covered in gravel dust, you have to wash your boat before using it every time. Jeff the manager has improved the pool, club house, etc. The bathrooms are clean. Location of the marina can be affected by cedar point traffic. I call it home ! The mechanics are amazing found a problem with my boat that has been wrong for years. The staff treats us like family and what a great group of Dockmate's. Won't be leaving anytime soon. Love Venetian Marina
