If you want a remote feeling park with lots of great trails, character, old growth forest this is the place to go. It reminds me of my childhood Boy Scout camp that no longer exists. This is an amazing place to hike, trail run, bird watch and even ride your horse. I hope to camp here a couple times as there is no highway noise and the place is very well taken care of.

This park is free and if you were a Girl Scout, you may have remembered camping here. There are homes of early inventors and business motels of the 19th and 20th centuries. They are open only with a guide. The lake is great for fishing, boating, and kayaking. There are many paths to hike from mild to moderate. The park is actually 2 old camps joined together. The one ex-camp holds the lake and the other has the mill. You can spend hours just walking the trails or find a bench and enjoy the quiet.

I've lived in this area for 14 years and never knew about this place, today was my first visit and it is a great Park to hike at! It has a nice history and a lot of old buildings and barns, also to Lakes to walk around. Saw a bald eagle fly over one of them. The trails get very muddy so be prepared for wet feet. The only reason why I gave this park four stars instead of five is because the trails are not marked, and twice it took me a little while to figure out exactly where I was. It would be very nice if the trails had markings.

It is impossible to describe in words how beautiful this park is, so you need to visit in person! It is a public park. Lots of trails to explore. In summer you can fill up your water bottle at a refill station. Typical park bathrooms throughout the park. Lots of cool buildings to see, some of which are being updated. Fun programming for kids-- check out Nature Buddies in the summer or Nature Adventurers during the school year!

Literally the hidden gem of Richfield. If you are over the MetroParks, and want something a little more out of the way, hit this place up!

Beautiful park with several walking trails and two lakes. There’s even a secret waterfall! Part of the Buckeye Trail goes through and there’s a nice display of spring wildflowers along the river. Not quite big enough for a good paddle, but kayaking is allowed. The Lodge is reservable and looks so beautiful on the inside after renovation. Dogs are allowed and must be on leash.

Very nice place to walk or hike. The maps are available at the info map display. There are.many trails to walk and a horse trail that winds throughout the area. The water falls is cute and the cabins are scattered along the trails with info. The bathrooms are in need of better servicing. There are no water or food vending. There are no bike trails at this location as well. The parking is ample and the walking paths are wide. There are many flowers and foliage everywhere. This is a very nice place to visit. You can walk it all in about 2 hours. Bring snacks there are many pavilions to take a walk break. Nice large lake but not great for fishing.

What a perfect day for beautiful hike at Richfield Heritage Preserve. It is a true blessing that this location was not purchased and destroyed for new home development. Here you will find a 336 acre beautiful hiking treat, see all the beautiful wildflowers, cabins from the girl scout years gone by.There is history here be sure to read up before trek, in the process of repairs is the mill house awaiting its new wheel from Kentucky! The beautiful dance hall is dilapidated and in need of dire repairs there is a gorgeous stone fireplace that you can see from the window. The floor in the dance also holds natural spring dance floor so the women in the 1800s early 1900s could dance longer in evening hours and have relief from fatigue. The Clearwater lower lake needs help as well its no longer clear but just needs help too. They offer yoga classes, wild flower trails, bridle trails.Keep in mind trails can be muddy, wear appropriate foot wear , and bring your water to stay hydrated. Stay on the marked trails not to disturb wild life.Richfield Heritage Preserve rely on donations and volunteers to maintain this beautiful sanctuary.

This amazing park was a Girl Scout camp on the former estate of James Kirby, the inventor, and others. Camp buildings and houses are still standing, and appear to be in good repair. As you walk around feel the spirit of the early residents. Visualize the Girl Scouts walking in the woods, and paddling in the ponds while working on badges. Today we saw several people fishing from kayaks. This "gem" is a wonderful place to explore, and to search online for its history. Paths are gravel. Camp bathrooms are at the large parking lot. Restaurants and an ice cream shop are within a few minutes drive.

My favorite trail and also a perfect setting for filming a horror movie. Ghost hunters would also enjoy this place. Also not crowded! Wonderful.

Beautiful park with a nice lake and some easy trails. Used to be a girl scout camp and buildings are still there. Dogs are welcome if they are kept on leash. Lots of parking available.

Great place to hike. Very secluded usually not very many people. Leaves in the autumn are very beautiful I think the best season to hike there.
