Catawba Island State Park is a small, quiet park mainly used for boat launching and fishing. It offers a boat ramp, kayak and canoe launch areas, and a fishing spot with easy access. Visitors can enjoy great lake views, especially at sunset, and there is a covered picnic area with picnic tables. The park has clean restrooms with flush toilets, soap, and water, and a large parking lot that accommodates boat trailers. It also features swings and a pavilion, making it a relaxing place for families and dog walkers alike. While the park is small and lacks a beach or playground, it provides a convenient spot for boating, fishing, and enjoying the scenic lake views year-round. Overall, it is a popular, peaceful location near residential areas, with well-maintained facilities and friendly amenities.
This has got to be one of the smallest state parks. Not much more than a parking lot, boat ramp, and an area to fish from. No beach. It's got a pavilion and some swings but no playground. Still, it's nice to have a spot for public access, and it probably has great sunset views.
