I have been dealing with Dana at Emerald Parrot Rescue for over a month . She has been very nice. I wanted to adopt Stewart, and tried to stay in touch. She got busy but told me that she had me on her list to call. I waited for weeks. I fell in love with Stewart and I hope that he has gotten a wonderful forever home. This is not a negative post by any means. I’m disappointed. Dana is a good woman.Ok , so months have passed and I have had no contact from Dana. I have changed my opinion of Dana and her organization. I thought about it and figured it was probably best that I didn’t get Stewart or any other bird from them since they all smoke and birds have a very sensitive respiratory system. I am still disappointed but certainly not angry.

I drove from Mississippi because this rescue was one of the few willing to work with an out of state adopter. Dana was super helpful and even allowed me to meet the birds and see which was the best fit. My bird picked me and I returned a couple of weeks later to get her. Dana checks in often and answers any questions I have as a new owner er and I'm so blessed to have come across this rescue. I will definitely go back should I ever decide to adopt a second bird.

I was just there for several hours this afternoon. Despite having a full house of birds. After lunch, they all were quiet and taking naps. Well except my former hawkhead who I was there to visit. I looked far and wide to find a good home for him as I have aged out of bird ownership. Hawkheads are not easy and need an experienced owner, which is why Dana is keeping him. I am grateful!

Dana is simply amazing. She has been a savior for countless parrots in her lifetime, and she has been doing it for decades now. She has rehabilitated birds back from the most dire circumstances. When you come into the rescue, you can immediately tell that the birds know they are in a safe place. I cannot recommend her care enough.

I'm not a whole lot on birds but Dana is excellent on rescue and training them. I've recommended to a couple of friends that wanted a bird. In 1980 Dana was into rescue of all animals my son then got to play with her pet raccoon which was so sweet lived in the house. Next he got to love and bottle feed a baby deer who's mother gotkilled. But the one thing she did for me she had rescued a 6 month old doberman and she knew I loved them and grew up with them she came by my job and I walked out to her car in the front seat was my new best friend bud I was a happy on cloud 9. In 199ps she did it again got me bud #2. Dana is an angel with rescue and saving animals. But now she is mostly birds of you're looking call them and talk and be prepared for her to ask questions about why who you are for safety of tybirds.
