The Battery as a place and hockey school, is absolutely fantastic. My son has had nothing but great experiences there. I'm writing this review however in regards to their "Elite" programs and athletes. This isn't a sour grapes review. My son has never tried out for a Battery team.To put it in hockey jargon, the "Elite" teams and players from here conduct themselves much like the Hawks from The Mighty Ducks. They are full of cake eater kids who's parents spend $30,000 a year on youth hockey, and in turn their spawn are rude, unsportsmanlike athletes on and off the ice. I have encountered them on multiple occasions, first at a Blue Jackets game years ago in the kids hockey area where they took over and started telling other kids to leave because they were "Battery Elite". In games, they frequently play lower competition (Elite teams are essentially AAA teams) and when they beat these sometimes Single A squads they call them losers, worthless, etc.For all the money these parents spend on hockey, they need to go spend some of it to get their kids humbled. They need it, because their attitudes are terrible.

My son has been training at The Battery since he first began training to play. Joey and the entire staff are amazing. The coaches are highly qualified, most have professional experience playing. We have played on several tournament teams and it is high quality tournaments. They have on ice and off ice training as well as a fitness facility on site. Recently Keegs Sharpening was added. There is probably not better sharpener than Keegs. He is very professional and will make recommendations based on wear patterns on the blade. He can even engineer a profile for you specifically. He is way beyond just an ice rink sharpener, he’s the top tier of sharpeners. Great facility, great people, great coaches. There is even a kids play room for the siblings play in while you wait. Highly recommend.

Completely unprofessional tournament today. Opposing mite team was completely out of control, body checking. my son was hit from behind and broke his collarbone. I tried to talk to the tournament director (Joey) who was nowhere to be found. Left my phone number -- apparently it's not important enough to call be back. I never signed any waivers about injury and participation.I will never return to this cesspool of an establishment. If you are considering having your kids skate at this place, I suggest you think again. Clearly there is no concern for player safety as championed by USA Hockey in the past few years.

I took several pairs of skates to be sharpened by Keegan, and was thoroughly impressed. He had a very professional approach to everything, yet still was enjoyable to converse with. He is knowledgeable, fast, and efficient; able to put a quality edge on your skates. Would recommend him to anyone with skates of any style.

Great experience for my grandson to improve his hockey skills. He comes up from Cincinnati for the summer. He loves spending as much time as possible at the rink.

An outstanding place for your aspiring hockey star. One on one instruction. Training devices. Clean. Friendly. Helpful. Informative. An area to observe. An area for the non hockey players to entertain themselves. It’s next level and then some. It’s a first class operation and worth the travel time and money. Highly recommended. Owned by CBJ all star Cam Atkinson.

The manager, Sammi, was the nicest, sweetest, most hard working person I have ever met. You have a real life jewel in her! I hope you appreciate her and keep her around because it is clear she is the heart and soul of The Battery!

Battery Hockey Academy is a great facility! Skating on the studio ice in the 3v3 format is valuable for experienced players to hone their skills, as well as for beginners who are looking to make large strides in their development in a short time. I highly recommend checking out Battery Hockey no matter how long you've been playing hockey!
