Camp Frontier is a very well-maintained camp with excellent staff members despite the lack thereof. Most staff members and counselors are full of energy and are very friendly towards campers, while others are so passive aggressive you can’t help yourself from trying to avoid them. Other staff members have their priorities completely wrong, opting to show Scouts funny games on their laptops rather than teaching the 12 merit badge requirements every Scout is missing in the class. Upon arrival, we were forced to set up our military tents by ourselves, which are supposed to be set up for us by the staff BEFORE we arrive at the camp site. The food is a lot better than I imagined it would be, so that’s a plus. Slushies from the trading post are sub par. I wish they were Slush Puppy branded like every other Scout summer camp i’ve been to. The trading post scammed me by charging me $3.50 for every slushy refill (which are supposed to be $2.00). Vending machines around the entire camp are very convenient. A wide variety of merit badge opportunities and evening activities every night. Bathrooms and shower houses are about as clean as you’d expect from a camp. It was a fun week to spend here during the summer, but certain staff members, the problem with camp setup, and the trading post fiasco, along with other situations, brings my review down to 3 stars.

Winter camp with Boy Scouts at the cabins. It was 4 shared rooms with several beds of bunk beds in them. Sinks in the rooms along with 2 bathrooms. Advice to bring dishwasher soap, dish soap, hand soap , rags, towels, paper towel, garbage bags, napkins, cleaners, kitchen and hand towels. We went on several hikes and did some geocaching. Kids went sledding and had a campfire. There is a stove, coffee maker, silverware, plates, some cups, fridge and microwave. Probably bring travel hot chocolate cups if you plan on making a bunch.

Great camp, went there with my troop for more than 5 years for summer camp. There is a great selection of merit badges to pick from and the camp is simple in a very elegant way. The food isn't the greatest but its a summer camp trying to feed 500+ campers every week on a budget so im not overly critical about that. Working on staff there was a blast and an experience of its own. Speaking from experience, the staff really do work hard and have overwhelmingly positive interactions with the campers. I would say that this camp is the place to go if your from a troop based in Ohio, Michigan, or Indiana.
