I would give 5 atars but the office staff is awful. They either have an attitude, or just act like they dont care. Dr swartz is absolutely amazing, any dr that i seen in the office has been great, understanding, caring and doesnt rush you out of there. They actually listen and try to understand and help as best as they can. Its so great to feel heard and cared for.

Beware! I have received multiple emails from Perrysburg Family Physicians requesting payment for a radiology scan. The problem is, I’ve never been to this place even once, and I don’t even live in the area. Total scam.

I used to see Dr. neiswander for YEARS only ever had to pay my copay and received excellent care. Now they apparently merged with Toledo Clinic and don't accept my insurance or something because I get charged my copay and also $200 in a bill that comes to my house from TC. ( I wasn't told for 4 visits so I have an insane bill that came to my house I wasn't expecting ) I brought it to billings attention wondering what this bill was since I wasn't told ANYTHING about them merging when I made my appointment. Linda in billing was so kind to tell me it's my problem that I don't know anything about my insurance. Dr. Ben Swartz is an amazing doctor and I have no bad words to say about him but this office is an absolute joke. The ladies are incompetent and rude! I brought my boyfriend here because of how amazing Dr. Swartz is and the ladies have been so rude to him saying the doctor wouldn't see him anymore because he had to cancel twice due to work ( he works for the railroad and I informed them of this before he was a patient and they said it was no problem ) the Dr quickly took care of it when I brought it to his attention but now he's getting into a new job and needed some records, Connie was unprofessional and nasty as he was trying to collect the records he needed. We haven't been here since March and after me having to go get his records today and half of the things we needed not even being there, AND the rude phone call, we won't be back at all. I wish Dr. Swartz didn't work at this office because I'd go anywhere else to see him.

This place does not GAF about their patients. I have waited 2hrs for my appt before, while in the wait room saw someone who DROVE 2hrs to their appt get told that “your doctor isn’t here today and we have no room for your appt.” No empathy no refund no compensation THEY DO NOT CARE! I once had a doctor who refused to give me birth control bc he’s Catholic and it’s a sin for women to be in control of their bodies and then gave me a lecture for an hour. They aren’t open long enough hours wise, they speak to you flatly when they did something in the wrong, will put your prescription refills at the wrong address bc they don’t even know how to follow simple directions.. this place is UNBELIEVABLE! If they’re running late they won’t even call you before hand. Clear out your WHOLE DAY if you plan to go with this place.

Finding a family doctor with whom you can develop a personal relationship over time is a rarity these days, but these are the physicians I trust most. Dr. Michael Neiswander has been our family doctor for 30+ years. My wife, daughter and I trust him implicitly because we each feel we have that elusive personal connection. He asks intelligent investigative questions, then actually listens to your answers before jumping to a diagnosis. Because he knows us and our health histories, when we come in for routine wellness checks our discussions are a continuation of past healthcare visits, as opposed to the first-time meeting (again) feeling you get with many physicians. And somewhere along the way Dr. Neiswander has even become our travel advisor! Sadly (for us) Dr. Neiswander retired recently and I personally feel I've lost something special. Perrysburg Family Physicians has been sold to The Toledo Clinic, and while this transaction brings certain benefits, I mourn the death of yet another independent practice as the Toledo healthcare system continues to consolidate. I remain hopeful, but not optimistic.

Years ago this was an excellent group, however in the last several years it's been increasingly difficult getting an appointment or the wait time to see doctor is 30+minutes, even for Tele-health visits you must wait! On several occasions I was referred to specialists that were not even in network. Now after over 20 years with my pcp they don't accept my insurance and don't bother informing me. Staff seem overworked, always seem over booked. Change isn't always good. Very disappointed.

They have a rule in which you MUST be seen at least once per year. If not, they drop you as a patient. They also do not accept my insurance, and they don't accept cash if you have insurance. I'm not going to be seen if I'm not sick and also if I have NO IDEA what my bill will be. Find someone else.. Preferably a holistic doctor that's not so quick to prescribe medication for life.. Then treat me for side effects, and get put on more medication. Never ending cycle with "doctors" like this one. Also - Front desk receptionist INCREDIBLY RUDE. She does not like her job, and it's obvious.

I was recently established as a pt of Dr. Herring. I had seen him first week of March. He seemed nice enough. He ordered some blood work due to the last panel I had was abnormal. The office told me they would call back either way. I called 4 days later and was assured he had signed off on blood work and someone would call me. Never received a call. I had to call my specialist to find the blood work and interpret. Then after dealing with an illness all weekend, I called Monday when the office opened asking for a sick call appointment. I was told " we don't do sick calls because too many of our staff has been getting sick from patients so we are short staffed" She did offer a telehealth visit however I needed seen due to my symptoms. Went to urgent care the same day and tested positive for strep throat after being swabbed, and was prescribed an antibiotic. Isn't that what a PCP is for? I would understand not seeing patients in the heat of covid but this is March 2022 so I'm somewhat unclear on why they wouldn't see a sick patient. Healthy patients have no reason to go aside from routine physicals. Unfortunately, I am now having to find a new PCP that will see me when and if I'm ill.

Dr. Herring is a very nice doctor and will take the time to ask questions. However, he does not fill his prescriptions on time. It's frustrating when you only have a 30-day supply, and you have to constantly hound your doctor for a refill. It's been multiple times where I sent the doctor a message 7 days in advance and it still hasn't reached the pharmacy. One time I had to call/message 7 times to finally get it. Fix that issue and I'd rate Dr. Herring 4/5

Very hard to get responses from the office. Have had several occasions where I have contacted them regarding a prescription or medical clarification. They do not respond, you have to catch them (office help) in the office otherwise they will not respond to voicemails. After 3 separate times of trying to get a response I have found that it does not work to leave voicemails.

I have found that Dr. Herring is a caring and competent physician. He listens to his patients and explains situations well. There are some timing issues with the office, but I believe that is the usual with most Dr.'s offices.
