The cashiers make shopping there awkward and uncomfortable. The guy with the ponytail and nail polish is complaining about something EVERY time I go in there. Customers do not want to hear a huge rant about how miserable he is while standing there being rung up. If you get the older man, he makes it feel like you're inconveniencing him by simply being there in the checkout line. Treating customers poorly is not going to keep people coming back.

Weird experience… was waiting at checkout. An older male worker was stocking stuff about maybe 8 ft away from me . I put my stuff up on the counter and waited maybe a minute or so for him to notice me . Eventually I asked “ are you able to ring me up ?” He sighed heavily , threw the box he had in his hand on the ground angrily , and rang me up. He never said a word, scoweled, and also didn’t give me a receipt. May have been just having a bad day , but it made for a very uncomfortable transaction .

Nasty service worst manager told me to leave while shopping 3 minutes to close never coming back I would never have removed a paying customer and I ran one of these store so sorry to see what the company has become

Very rude guy at checking out. He was apparently doing a test in the back office and when he came to check me out, kept saying I’m trying to finish a test. I hate getting interrupted. It’s very rude and he just kept going on. I’m sorry you’re at work deal with it.

Even though they’re listed as a FedEx, UPS drop off location for your shipments…, don’t bother going here. Either they can’t be bothered or they don’t know what they’re doing in the aspect. They look at you like they’re clueless and don’t know that they’re listed as a drop off location. Either UPS and FedEx need to just take them off of their list or DG needs to get with the program and train their employees.

Guy yelled at me for using the trash can in front of the store. Very unprofessional and will not be returning. My visit was on June 29 at 7:20 pm this man definitely needs proper training to be around the public.

I walked into this particular Dollar General last night at 8:25 so that means I had 35 minutes to shop. As soon as I walk in instead of being greeted hello welcome to Dollar General, the employee at the register looked up at the clock and said make it quick. I can’t tell you how infuriated I was. It seems like every dollar store in Madison seems to push you out of the store before they even close. If they don’t want to be there that late, they need to talk to the managers about not staying so late. They signed up to work till closing time so I suggest that you let customers shop and quit harassing them. We see the sign, we know what time you close, we even Google it so leave us alone and let us shop. It was an older lady. I’m glad the older guy left with a bald head because every time I was rang up by him he would complain about his job so much. Ever since Covid hit it’s like customer service went out the window and I don’t think it’s fair to the people that have to spend their hard earned money and definitely through these rough times. Be happy you have a job even if you hate it, hide it from your customers please!!

I have ran into this store on my way home from work for a quick item or two thinking I’ll be in and out. NEVER has that happened at this location.Seems as if only one person is working, and if there are more, you wouldn’t know it. Very, very slow checkouts! I’m not sure if it is what seems to be a faulty system, or just lack of training, but a few times I’ve been unlucky enough to get stuck behind the person paying with plastic and the machine freezes.Understandably these things happen, but after watching the employee try the same one thing over, and over, and over again for 15 minutes with no help or seemingly other options, I put down my one item and walked out of this location for the last time.So I guess if you are never in a hurry, this location would suffice, but all other locations I frequent often, are quick, pleasant, helpful, and trained to handle any issues on the spot. Also tend to have more than just one register available, and ready when needed. Again, I feel this location only has one person working at a time, so even if the employee wanted help, there didn’t seem to be any.

The staff here are awesome. They greet you when you walk in, ask if you need help finding anything and the store is kept in order unlike some of the other branches.
