Even though we did not attend an art class, we stopped by after going on the train ride at CNP. We were able to see the silk scarf class in progress. We were really impressed to see the outcome of the scarves being made. Definitely we plan to book a class soon when back in town. The storefront features a variety of artists and a variety of art pieces. Prices seem reasonable. Check it out if you are in the Peninsula area!

I love this place for local art. They have lots of interesting classes (glassblowing, fused and stained glass, painting, drawing, weaving, enameling, upcycled crafting, photography, etc.), and it's fun to browse in the gallery. They have rotating exhibits highlighting different themes or mediums, and the regular gallery is the FIRST place I look when I need to buy a gift. Kids' classes too!

I was gifted a glass fusion class at Peninsula Art academy. The class was for how to make colored flower lawn ornaments. After sketching out the petals and design (I changed my design when I realized how you cut glass). I quickly found out why my prior cutting glass failed. I was never applying enough pressure. Was shown how to make glass cuts and given window glass to practice on. Next was being shown how the grinder works to remove the sharp edges on the glass. Followed by glueing and then placing in the kiln.Class also went over the annealing process. How and when glass fuses. Hopefully the small microwave kiln works so I can try out what I learned. Will be back for another art class as it was fun and ygot to learn something new.

The Academy is a local house for local art, artists, and people shopping for unique things. They also offer a robust class schedule for adults, teens and kids at a variety of times and days on a variety of subjects. I've taken three glass blowing classes here and I know there are also drawing, painting, weaving, and glass fusing classes. I don't know what else they may have, but call and check!
