The service department is garbage. I took my car in for a simple recall, which didn’t even require the car, just the keys, from what I was told from the technician that I talked to you on the phone . When I went to pick the car up, mind you i had to call THEM, no one contacted me, the car was dead. The lady working there then proceeded to take a dead battery charger out to try and charge my battery, I told her the charger was dead. They never attended to charge the battery. I don’t think she knew what she was doing. Of course nothing successful, it was dead lol. She then suggested me going to auto zone because their batteries are $300. The point is this: how did I drive the car there and it was fine, why did I drop my car off if they didn’t need it, why does my car have more issues after dropping it off. Communication is key. I shouldn’t have to call and ask them if the car is ready. They should call me and let me know that my car is ready. Very disappointed in the service and I will never take my cars there again. I called AAA they jumped car and it’s home and started right up today.
They also repaved the parking lot and did not communicate that with me so my car was left in between a light pole and another car. it took me quite a few days to even get my car out of there. I had to contact the main office.

I strongly suggest you get a second opinion when seeking service. I have always trusted them and felt as if the service department has been honest and fair. However, this last visit I had a very loud squeal when backing up the the morning for my first drive. I dropped my vehicle off and later that day got a call that they found nothing wrong with my vehicle. They said the materials used in the pads today are noisy and thats what I may be hearing. The brakes were fine and everything was inspected. It felt as though they didn't believe what I was saying. When I went to pay my bill they discounted the diagnostic since they spent less time than expected. My husband went with me since I told him I was pretty sure they didn't trust what I was saying. He had a technician come out and while I was backing up the technician asked who inspected this and yes he could hear something but it was nothing in comparison to what happens when I hear it in the a.m. We agreed to leave it overnight so they could experience it in the morning. They called the next day and agreed it was a loud obnoxious noise in the morning and that the next course of action would be to change the rear brake pads and rotors. I was told the day prior the pads had plenty of life left. This service would be over $600. We decided to get a second opinion. The second opinion found it was a sensor broke off and they charged about $100 to get it fixed. I honestly feel I shouldn't even have had to pay for a diagnostic after all of this. I have never had any issues with the sales or finance but being able to trust a service department is so important when purchasing a vehicle.

I have always dealt primarily with the Coughlin in London and have nothing bad to say about them, but I have quite the comical story about the Pataskala branch. Long story short is that I currently own a 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD High Country that is slightly lifted with oversized tires. I used to have a bumper pull horse trailer so the lift on the truck didn't affect my hauling. My lovely husband bought me a LQ gooseneck trailer last Christmas and it doesn't haul level because of the lift on my truck. I wanted to see about trading my truck in for the same truck only stock lifted because I love my truck. The saddle brown seats in the 2016-2019s are great and I prefer the older, more boxy body style.
Coughlin of Pataskala had exactly what I was looking for: the same truck (same year, trim, etc.) but stock lifted with 20k more miles on it than my current truck. It was listed for $37,XXX. I made a phone call and explained my situation and was advised to text my VIN and photos for an approximate trade value. Mind you, my truck is in perfect condition and looks brand new inside and out aside from a very small ding in the tailgate. My thought was that the trade would be pretty even considering it's the same truck and mine has lower mileage. I was offered $29k for my truck. I understand the dealership needs to make money, but I can't understand in what world it would make sense for any potential buyer to accept $29k for a truck just to buy the same truck again for almost $38k with 20k MORE miles on it. Additionally, I forgot to mention that the KBB trade-in value of my truck is mid $31k to mid $37k so they didn't even offer within the suggested trade-in range.
Needless to say, I'll attempt to sell my truck outright because offering almost $3k under the lowest KBB trade-in value is laughable. What's even more laughable is that I had inquired about a truck at the London office awhile back. My husband deals directly with the finance guy instead of the sales staff. He pulled my VIN on my current truck and they were willing to give me the high end of the KBB for it. You'd think they'd have some kind of standard trade-in value rubric or something among their dealerships, but clearly they do not. However, the truck I was looking at got purchased before I got the chance to go see it in person. No big deal because trucks are always coming and going.
I gave 3 stars because I also inquired about my Lexus as a possible trade and that trade-in offer was far less insulting. The saleswoman I spoke to was also very quick to send me the trade offers. She also walked out to the lot for me to check if the truck had certain equipment I wanted that wasn't listed on the website. However, I received no reply of any kind after very tactfully declining their hilarious offer on my truck and explaining why. I'll stick to dealing with the London dealership from now on. They seem to have their heads on a bit straighter.

Mark Thomas was excellent from initial contact throughout the entire process. Being that I am in Texas and had never purchased a vehicle out of state, I had some questions about how it all worked. Mark put me at ease and not only made the purchase process easy, but he also coordinated the Corvette Museum Delivery for me on 8/24/24. I could not be happier with everything and how it played out. Mark is a genuine person, a great salesperson to work with, and most of all, a fellow Corvette Enthusiast! A+

Heather is an outstanding service advisor, answering all my questions and was accessible prior to and during my visit. She was also very accommodating in getting me into a loaner vehicle and getting me into the schedule the next day. The service team at Coughlin Chevrolet - Pataskala is top notch.

Got my car from this place over a year ago and shortly after ran into some issues with my transmission and engine that’s too complex to explain here. All in all though, this company was great to work with in getting the problems resolved without it being a burden to me. Even through my complaints as an annoyed customer at times, they made sure I was taken care of. I do think communication and transparency could be a little better with customers whose vehicles are getting extended maintenance, but I also understand the limitations. Whoever is reading, you’ll have a good experience.
