Absolutely infuriating! Avoid this company at all costs! I scheduled a pod pickup, and they didn't show up—FIVE TIMES! After the first time they failed to show up, I called the next day, and their rep promised they'd come, but again, nothing. This happened the next five times. The wait times to reach customer service are ridiculous. Just read the other reviews if you doubt me. This company is a complete joke!

Awful. They delivered the pod to the wrong address, my neighbors house, on a Saturday. They wudnt move it that day saying they were already behind. The husband’s car was stuck in their garage bc the pod was infront of it. Stayed there all weekend and they moved it monday morning. The driver was pissed bc the wife parked infront of the pod and that he had to wait there awhile for her to move it. Also, my family had to pay for a hotel room for the weekend bc all of our bedroom furniture was in the pod. Dumbest thing of all was that we moved to a new house In the same neighborhood just 1/2 mile away.

I would not recommend this company.
Too much having to repeat calling to have pods picked up.
We got two 16 foot pods. It has taken almost 2 weeks for them to pick up this one. They closed the account saying both were picked up.
They had it shown ,this pod was sitting in Euclid Oh? Ok well it is still sitting in my driveway. lol
So we will see if the pod gets picked up on the 13th , it took a lot of complaining to get to this point.

We scheduled with packrat for a long distance move. We were told that it would take 7 days and scheduled pickup 10 days out. Driving 6 hours a day this move would only take 4 days. The container drop off went really smooth, the morning it was to be picked up the called and cancelled due to "call offs", we asked if this would delay our delivery and were told no. Two days later they cancelled again due to "truck broken down", again we asked if this would delay our delivery and were told no. They also told us we would be first to pick up the following day. The next day we called when we hadn't been contacted that morning and they said that they were scheduled to pick up still. They called at 6:30pm and asked if they could pick up in the morning as they were over an hour away, again they stated that picking up that night or next morning would not make difference in delivery so we allowed them to delay again. The following morning after not hearing from them and being told AGAIN that we were first to be picked up, I called and was told pick up between 8:45 and 12:45 (it was after 9 already), they stated that would call prior to pick up. They arrived around 11am, 4 days after the original pick up date and did not call that they were on their way as they had stated they would. Today, we were told that our our container would be delayed 3 days. We were asked to quantify this inconvenience, if that was something that would be possible. The cost of changing flights, hotels, hiring movers etc does not seem quantifiable. We were then told they cannot offer us any compensation if they'd already given us the best route possible. After discussing how that is unreasonable due today great inconvenience they've given us they offered us $150 off. Again we stated that this does not cover any of the inconveniences that they have caused us and that this number just seems arbitrary when they then countered back and said well the best we can do is $300 a day. Wait until then that this is very on par with their company as we have been told lies after lies. The guy then stated that the reason for the $300 number was because they could only offer $100 a day of delay. This does not even cover a hotel for the night etc. Does cross country move for us is temporary and have already expressed that we will not be using them any further and cannot recommend them to anyone due to they're dishonesty and our experience with this company. We will without a doubt be using their competitor in the future. Save yourself the headache now and do not use pack rat for your next move.
Update: After the unit was picked up on Wednesday, and we were told they would try to expedite shipping. I contacted customer service on Monday to follow up on the review. The unit had not left its original location but was expected to leave that evening with the estimated arrival still being 3 days late. Customer service stated they couldn't do anything more until they had confirmation that it was delivered but transferred me over to dispatch to answer my questions. The gentleman I spoke to was very understanding, he informed me that they no longer offer expedited shipping (at a cost) so whoever told us that was wrong. He offered to call us on Wednesday, our initial arrival date to update us. We arrived to our moving destination that Wednesday and I still hadn't received a phone call yet so I called myself. Our unit was at our destination but was still scheduled to arrive in 3 more days. I was transferred to a supervisor who was able to get our unit delivered the next day (ultimately one day late). She mentioned that she would waive the next day delivery fee, like I should have expected to pay it in the first place.
All in all it worked out but isn't worth the headache. Our friends used Pods for their move at the same time as us and had 0 issues. So that's who we'll be going with next time.

On April 18, our two containers were picked up in CA and taken to a local facility. It is now April 29 and they haven’t moved. Estimated delivery to our new home was May 3. We paid about $9000 up front and have gotten almost no communication from these people. Multiple people in dispatch have told me they would get back to me and nothing. I realize they are a large company, but nothing seems right here. By end of day today, I am filing a police report for stolen items and disputing this charge with the bank. This is unreal!

Zero stars is not an option. We moved from west coast to east coast. The container was 4 days late delivering since they did not call us to confirm our drop off. We had everything packed up and our apartment lease ending and had to extend for additional days. Pack Rat would not re-imburse us for our cancelled movers the day we scheduled drop off. Their customer service team is not helpful and did not assist with anything. Then 2 months later we got our container and it had RODENT DROPPINGS in ALL of our belongings. The claims department said their response time is 90 days. Absolutely unacceptable and the worst company I have ever delt with in my life.@pack-rat - order #LDM-RET-2862181

Mostly good experiences all around. Moved from Florida to Ohio.Pack-Rat delivered and picked up container on scheduled dates. (If you need to schedule outside packers make sure you pay the extra for specific times and dates). Only a couple of glitches: on the day of pick-up, I was advised the ordered 8ft container wasn't available, so agreed to a 16ft one at no extra charge. This caused belongings to roll around in the unit and there was some damage to some very old kitchen chairs. Not their fault, though. Additionally, I had negotiated an all inclusive rate to match another carrier's quote but a fuel surcharge was included anyway and haven't succeeded in getting a refund. But, all in all, Pack-Rat was great and I would definitely use them again.

got 1 start because the is no 0. Talk to them numerous time had a pick up set up never showed up got a hold of someone picked up a week later and also charge me for another month been asking for itemized bill refuse to send it , they been charging me for insurance on the container never know about it over charging me for the rent over quoted price. Container got picked up yesterday driver smash into container and turf my lawn by making too tight of a turn . Company is horrible one day i was on hold for three hours. do not deal with them

Absolutely do not use this company at any price!The driver showed up to drop off the container. Didn't even try to put it where we asked. Instead drove into the neighbors yard and crashed into the garage a few times and destroyed it. The garage was knocked it off the foundation and is now tilting far enough the doors won't even open. He then dropped the container in the middle of the driveway blocking every spot and the garage. The only words were for us to file a claim and he drove off.2 hours on the phone just to get somebody who merely sent us a claim form to fill out and told us we had to call back to speak with actual customer service so that finally, 2 days later, someone shows up to move it. Despite our begging not to send the same guy out, who we are pretty sure either has a disability or was just high, the same guy arrives. 4 hours after the latest they said he'd show up. No apology, no words, just angry at us to have to come back out. We literally drew an oversized chalk outline for where he can move the container to. He then moves the container over 2 feet, nowhere near the spot we said, and asked if it was ok. He stood staring at his machine for 5 minutes, I can only assume in some sort of daze, before continuing on. Since the driveway was on an angle, he offered to put a wood block in to level it out. That sounded good. Except he put the wood block on the high side of the container, making it even more of an angle. He was not comprehending very well. Not just having trouble with his job, but having trouble with whatever reality he was in, which obviously had different physics than ours. I almost felt bad for him, except he was supposed to be a professional we were paying for.After another 10 minutes and a third try, he has the container almost near the spot it should be at, and he's starting to look frustrated. My wife is telling me to just let it go so he doesn't go postal and start breaking something else. I gave him a thumbs up and told him we could work with that. He drove off.As a parting gift, he only put wood blocks on the front of the container so that when we walked in, the entire container dropped and shifted. No harm, but I can't tell if it was a prank or he was just so out of it he didnt know what he was doing.

We have had nothing but issues with this company. Our schedule POD drop off day was rescheduled without any notification. We waited around half a day waiting for it. I talked to costumer service and they did not know why it was rescheduled. They moved it to a day that didn't work for us so I rescheduled and was charged a few! Had to talk to costumer service again. Then in was supposed to be delivered in the am and got changed to 2-4pm without notice. Now we are waiting for it to be moved from one house to our new house. I paid the AM fee hoping to assure its arrival, no luck. I called at 1pm and was told we were moved to 3-7p so they took away the AM fee. Nothing by 7 so I called again and was told we were moved to 845. Nothing by 845 so I called again and was told we were the last pick up and should be next, nothing again. By 930 I checked and we have been rescheduled to 2 days from now! And our bed is in the POD! This company is supposed to help make moving easier but it has caused nothing but more stress and now we don't have a bed for a couple days. Would not recommend and will never use again. One positive, every costumer service agent I talked to was very pleasant and as helpful as they could be.

Sweet Jesus why didn't I check yelp before hiring them?!!Nevered showed up as scheduled, and I've sat here all morning waiting for the $50 am delivery I paid for. Then, after 48 minutes on the damn phone, she says 400pm. Half day vacation from work totally wasted, and now I had to take the rest of the day off because you didn't show up. You are a disgrace! After 48 minutes on the phone, half of it ON HOLD FOR A Person, the lady offers me $10 off. I'm sorry I chose your company instead of all the rest! People DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
