After using Zappitelli Financial services for years, I stopped in to pay an invoice and pick up payroll documents for 2023. I was promised return phone calls from Carol throughout the year and after not receiving a response felt a personal visit at the Concord office would expedite resolution. I learned Carol is the wife of Mr. Zappitelli and her daughter Diana are employed there as well. Typically, these facts would be inconsequential. Recently retired I simply requested and adjustment on my balance as I only had two employees for half of the entire year billed. I was prepared to pay the invoice regardless of any adjustments. Dianna through the lobby window was offensive, aggressive, unreasonable and unprofessional. She claimed she knew me and that I resided next door to her father-in-law in the past. She drew illogical payment analogies to my profession and told me to go home and do my own payroll taxes. Offended personally and professionally I attempted to defend my position and asked to see Carol. Several individuals finally came to the window to assist when Mr. Zappitelli entered the Lobby and asked me to leave the premises. I have never been asked to leave an establishment and immediately complied, ending my visit. Zappitelli has many other businesses in the area including carwashes and auto repair that I would no longer feel comfortable patronizing. I only have a few days left to mail w2 forms and wonder if this was the source of the horrific experience today.

I have been a Senior Managing Director at 4 national real estate firms over 40 years, and I have never experienced any firm as inept and unprofessional as Zapitelli Financial Services. I am convinced that the only reason they are still in business is that like me, people didn't take the time to check them out on this website or on Yelp, in which they would find similar horror stories that others have experienced as we just did. Consider yourself fortunate to be reading the following: We are a small family company that owns rental homes in Northeast Ohio and they have been doing our tax returns for the past 4-5 years. Like some other reviewers, if you asked me about them last year, I would have said, "sure, they are fine, seem friendly and we have experienced no problems." What people don't realize is that due to the technical nature of what they do, mistakes can go unnoticed for years until it's too late. And if mistakes are found, don't expect them to take any responsibility. About a month ago, we realized that they incorrectly set up the ownership of our 25 rental homes in our tax returns in such a way that it opened us up to potential liability and made our accounting fees higher than they should have been. So I immediately made them aware of their mistake. After sending several emails back and forth, Diana Zapitelli became very defensive, taking absolutely no responsibility for anything, said I never sent them the Operating Agreements which spells out ownership identity, and said the ownership structure listing the sub entities in our personal names was my fault, and they would have to charge us for re-doing our 2022 returns. Fortunately, I keep all emails relating to our business. I found and sent them copies of the emails that I sent her back in 2018 that had the Operating Agreements describing ownership. Realizing this was irrefutable evidence, I added to the email, "would you like to change your position?" I expected an apology and offer to resolve the problem at their cost but no response was forthcoming. She never responded. I was tired of all of the back and forth emails, so I decided to call to speak to Diana first. She started calmly, continuing to avoid responsibility, but quickly flared and became aggressive yelling "as a young professional woman, I don't appreciate your attitude asking me if I would like to change my position!!! I never received your Operating Agreement describing who the owners were, I sent you a screenshot of my hard drive showing you its not there (seriously?), and entered you and your partner as owners as I THOUGHT I had seen that somewhere!! (now this is a CPA mind you)". She continued, "It was YOUR responsibility to have found and corrected our error before this!!" When I then started to respond, I didn't get 3 or 4 words out when her father Bob Zapitelli, who was listening in the background, interrupted me yelling out, "YOU CAN GO F--- YOURSELF!!! COME AND GET YOUR BOXES AND GET THEM OUT OF HERE!!!" As he continued ranting, I calmly said "You will be hearing from our attorney" and hung up the phone. I was shocked at what just happened so decided to look up reviews of the company on Yelp to see if the issue was just with me. I found 9 out of 10 other experiences of inept accounting and rude, arrogant behavior. And the 6th review down, was almost an exact experience of the one I just described with similar rantings from Bob Zapitelli. That post was from Nov of 2017 which shows a long pattern of inept accounting and customer abuse. This wasn't just them having a bad day. Even if she didn't receive the Operating Agreement (which I don't believe), she should NEVER have set up our returns without it, regardless what she thought. That's accounting 101. But I never received a request from her for it, so we assumed she received it, and that everything was set up correctly. And its NOT the customer's responsibility to check all of their accountant's entries to make sure no

My wife has been a long time customer of Zappitelli's. After getting married in 2020, we decided to maintain our customer status with their financial services and file our 2020 taxes through their services. Our taxes were prepared and filled as of 3/1/21. That same week, the US government made a decision regarding unemployment benefits would get a tax deduction of $10,200.00 towards individuals who file their 2020 tax return, who had unemployment benefits. I was informed that Zappitelli's was not going to file an amendment to my tax return, due to the date my taxes were filed. I was also told that I would have to go through either the IRS website or call the IRS regarding my amended tax return. After not having any success online or by phone, I spoke with the owner (Robert) at Zappitelli's this morning. Asking if they could help me with finding out where my amended tax return is. I was told that they have as much information as I do. Robert also went on to tell me that, he himself still has not received his own tax return for 2020. I was shocked and expressed that it was hard to believe, he then said that I was calling him a liar. I say no, the matter was hard to believe. When I attempted to paraphrase our conversation to make sure I understood all the information and directions he provided, he chose to make a mockery of me and became aggressive in our conversation. Yes, I would have liked to have some comforting words or acknowledgment of my taxes. I was disappointed in his demeanor and his unprofessional behavior. I expressed that I was choosing my words carefully as I was upset and that I understood that the information was limited. I then told him to have a good day and said goodbye. I find it hard to believe that I was speaking to the owner of the company, as there was no professional tone or concern as a valued customer. He seemed a bit unpolished and very condescending. No, you are unlikely to get our business again. Good thing we had this experience now, as we are also about to make some financial maneuvers regarding our investments and retirement planning. Completely disappointed with Zappitelli's Financial Services.

My current accountant was closing her practice so she transferred my account to ZFS. I assumed that she was passing me to a company that would provide the same level of service that she did...NOPE. From the first tax year up to now, they have been the worst! Emails don't get any responses. I have sent email after email to check on the status of my taxes and provide business info that is need to do the taxes. No response. I call, leave messages, phone calls never get returned. Oh, but when it is time to pay the bill they are 'Johnny on the spot' with calling you to get paid. But if you have any questions the answers are short and they can't get you off the phone fast enough. This past tax year I requested a meeting to go over everything since they 'lost' the first set of documents I sent them and then when they completed my taxes they used figures from the documents that were supposedly 'lost'. When I expressed that because of the non-responsiveness and lack of communication I would be taking my business to another firm, the response was 'Fine. I'm busy enough as it is.' Really?!! That's what you say to a paying customer?! On top of that I have 3 dependents, one of which I dropped off but file my taxes with 1 dependent instead of 2. So when I notified them of the mistake the prepared an amended return and I get a call (they always call when it's time to get paid) "Your amended return is done, that'll be $300". Seriously?! For your mistake?! "That's our charge to do amended returns, goodbye". I can't believe I considered giving the another chance next year. I must have been out of my mind! I read other reviews and it's like looking in a mirror. These people know nothing of customer service or how to run a service business. I would look elsewhere if you are looking for a reputable, reliable, accounting service.

If they can't be honest about the small stuff how can I trust you with the big stuff. I've been using ZFS for a number of years. They started out small, personable, and honest. Over the last few years, they've grown and lost the personal touch. However, this year I found them to be less than honest. It was a small issue, but it was something that should have not occurred. Integrity is difficult to regain once it's lost. When I bought it to their attention, they doubled down. I will no longer give them my business.

Visited Zappys auto wash in Chardon Ohio on June 18th at 1 pm. mentioned to the guys working that I couldn't get my antenna off my truck, they said it wasn't a problem and that they'd get it for me! They couldn't get it by hand so they got a wrench from the office and got it off. The young man didn't mention that he scratched a half circle into my brand new truck. As soon as I got out of the wash to put it back on I noticed the very prominent scratch and filled out an incident report and the man apologized. The company didn't call me or email me back so I went back up to the Chardon location and was told the manager jumps to different locations and to try the Concord office. I went there and was bombarded by many workers at a time! All I did was ask for Aj Zappitelli and explained why and I got kicked off the property and they threatened to call 911 on me said to have my attorney call theirs and more! I have been a customer and have had my taxes done there for over 5 years! They were so rude and didn't care at all to talk to me about what happened. My boyfriend called to talk to them about it and they laughed saying their guys don't take antenna off and I'm on my own with it. Worst experience and left crying with my three year old on my hip. They just lost mine and my families business.

I had been working with Zappitelli's for 7 years. At first things went well then about two years ago we started to see a ton of mistakes in both our payroll and tax returns. We actually lost an employee over the amount of errors on his pay checks. I tried to be loyal because I wanted to keep the work in my local economy. Finally this year my wife and I had enough. We received a letter from IRS about an issue on tax return. I questioned the issue with Bob Zappitelli and of course they tried to say I made the error. All I did was provide information for them to do the return. I was frustrated but maintained my professionalism. Then Bob Zappitell proceeded to tell me I could pack my s$#t up and get it the F@!K out of here. The next day they sent my information by mail for me to change over to another CPA and Payroll service. Upon the change many more errors were found and corrected. I am happy to move on and I do not recommend this service provider to anyone. In the past I had recommended this group to at least 4 people that used their service but they do not plan to use them anymore.
