H&R Block wanted $430 to prepare tax documents for myself and my spouse. We would likely not receive a refund and end up owing money. We had a few extra documents related to being homeowners, student loans, etc. I will never step foot into another H&R Block building. They are robbing people.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE! Unfortunately I needed info from prior year ( done at a different location) and since HR Block had it on file decided to let the professional do 2 yrs of taxes! Which were a simple 1040 EZ form but since it was for multiple years I went with them first of all it cost $352 for 1 hours of work that was done wrong! Or should I say NOT DONE!! . Somehow their system had a glitch and never submitted the 2021 return. Which I'm being told the program wasn't aware that the prior year taxes were paid which they most certainly were paid and already received their payment.Originally had them start the taxes on Jan.20 that way I could beat the rush.... I was notified by text and on their app. That the current year taxes were direct deposit which they automatically took their payment of 352 ! I figured I should be hearing something about the other return as well which is several thousand dollars ... A week goes by so I took all the paperwork they gave me up to see if there was a problem... A different professional looked over paperwork and assured me both returns were completed and submitted on January 20th. But it would take longer because it wasn't from the current year... I still had my doubts, so was taken to his computer to pull up my information To give me peace of mind... After several minutes of him not seeing what he was looking for; called over the original professional who did them originally... They went to original professional computer because it was easier to find because I am his client and should be in his file ... He was completely dumbfounded so I approached Kevin ( who was very helpful) I'm not on his caseload but he took the time to find out what happened... Besides I it's difficult for me to understand Phan as he speaks with a heavy accent! Long story shortit's 2/26/23 Even though they are paid in full. My tax form hasn't been submitted to the IRS!!! I'm being told they need to wait until the manager comes in to see how to get their program to realize that years taxes are paid for..I'm very frustrated, the entire reason I filed so early was to beat the rush... Now because of "their program" I'm going to have to wait on a decent amount of money.. it took me 6 weeks to have the 1st set of taxes returned into HR BLOCK ACCOUNT !! I can imagine how long it will take once they get problem solved and 2nd set of taxes submitted, how long it will take now it's the busy part of tax season!! If it's not made right! I will be contacting my attorney, they've received their payment in full for services not rendered! STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND! I understand accident happen, but they are responsible for however long it takes to receive my $3,400.00! I will update once they handle this issue!
