After I made a purchase, I decided I wanted to look around. Cashier with hat and glasses yelled at me and said “NO YOU HAVE TO GET OUT” very racist, and made me feel unsafe. do not recommend. There are two other Asian grocery stores in the area. Don’t go here

This is a nice little market with a limited, but still diverse, selection of items. They changed their hours during the pandemic, so it's not as convenient to visit as it once was. That, and the fact that they've raised prices several times, is why I knocked off a star.The items I purchase are always fresh and delicious. Their lo mein noodles are a great find, along with drinks and sauces.As for the cashier with the facial hair, hat and earring. He's the owner's stepson. He's half Asian and half Puerto Rican (since that seems important to some of the reviewers.) I've talked with him at length, and while he's quirky, he's never been rude to me or anyone else while I was there. That's not saying he hasn't been rude to others, I'm just stating my experience after shopping here for years. The older gentleman, his stepfather/the owner, is a very kind man.Overall I'll continue shopping at Nee How for basics, but anything else I'll get from Asiatown, strictly because of the more convenient hours.

I love going to this store. They have a nice selection of fresh produce as well as noodles, sauces and drinks. I am elated to not have to go into the city any longer to get my Chinese groceries!

I have not visited gone tithe store, since they never pick up the phone! Can not go all the way there to find out they do not carry stuff you are looking for. As a matter of fact other Chinese store do not pick up the phone either!

I was in the hunt for galangal and had tried a different Asian food mart and they didn’t have any. I called here and talked to the gentleman at the store. He said he had some so I headed over. After hanging up with me he checked to make sure he had some in stock(there was some earlier in the day), only to realize he was out. He called me back and left a message explaining the situation. I showed up at the store within 5 minutes of talking to him and asked about the galangal. He apologized for being out and gave me some ginger(as a substitute) on the house for the inconvenience. He was so honest in his apology. It was a bummer they didn’t have it but he made it right for me.I’ve shopped here in the past and will continue to in the future.

The cashier at the store with the beard and earring was speaking rudely to me while I was trying to pay saying that I need to believe in Jesus and that I’m going to hell if I don’t believe Jesus died for my sins…then proceeded to follow me out the store while I tried to leave! attacked over my religious beliefs not being the same as his.. very nasty disgusting behavior. Will never return. Seems like I’m not the only person who has had bad run in this guy

Went in there for the first time. Couldn't take his eyes off the TV to help me. Very rude when I did get his attention. I will never be back

My recent visit to Nee How Chinese Food Market was unfortunately overshadowed by the discourteous behavior of the young cashier on duty.Arriving just five minutes before closing, I was confident in my ability to quickly make my purchase, as I knew exactly what I needed. However, upon entering, I was promptly confronted by the cashier who declared with a hostile tone, "It's Six O'clock. We're closed, leave now!" This abrupt dismissal, despite the unlocked door, lit OPEN sign, and clock still reading 5:55, was quite upsetting and disappointing.While I understand stores have closing times, the lack of clear communication and the dismissive attitude left a negative impression. A simple "We're closing soon, can you grab what you need quickly?" would have been a much more welcoming approach. It is disheartening to feel rushed and unwelcome, especially when there is time remaining before the officially posted closing hour. Ensuring the clock and signage accurately reflect closing times would help avoid confusion for future customers.Overall, while the selection at the store is decent, this extremely unpleasant experience at the hands of the cashier has left me hesitant to return.

The products are great but the only thing is about cashier , uneducated man i guess he’s american with old facial and wear a hat and i was feeling disgusting him cause the way he treated to me like distinguishing and had no respect to customer . i called my sister at that time in order to ask what she needs . I didn’t know what was going to him and the momment i was looking forward products and he ran close to me like a ghost :))) just appeared i was shock on him ? and i cosidered if he doesn’t want me call just remind me okk i can get it and respect to him but all opposite . his attitude was so rude and cringe on his behavior . never come back again i tried shopping normally as i could !

The younger cashier at the store is extremely rude and hostile. He glared at me when I said hi, and when I told him he could keep the penny of change that was owed to me, he threw it against the wall behind him and walked away. This is some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.The store has a good variety of merchandise and it’s very convenient to have an Asian grocery in the area, but I’m not coming back here again.
