I am sharing what I have been going through. Was in the office after coughing and feeling bad. Had an xray. Showed bilateral pneumonia. Was given a second round of antibiotics, prednisone and cough meds with codeine. Had a second Xray. Called the following day to see what the xrays showed and tell them there was no improvement. Been waiting 3 days now for a phone call from their office. This office is so bad about calling you back. Still coughing and chest is tight. DO I STILL HAVE PNEUMONIA?

This place is great. I could not get my doctors email to send. Tonya and Kayla spent 15 min helping me and got it done. So nice and efficient everyone was in and out quickly. Will always come here.

Quite frustrating they don't use My Chart. Makes it unnecessarily difficult to manage one's own medical care.

Today was my first appointment with Dr Karah Strouse and it was the best experience I’ve had with a doctor. This is the first time I felt like I was fully being listened to. She was very welcoming and made me feel instantly comfortable. I would highly recommend seeing her.

MSA Primary Care is the best!

I was a patient here for years. Then I got sick with cancer and kidney disease followed. So I ended up on disability and my insurance changed this company does not take Medicare so I had to find a new doctor who did. I started searching for another doctor and found one
With no help from MSA. So last year I was able to get both Medicare and medicade so that opened the door for me to go back to MSA PLUS my new doctor was also retiring. I was told by Dr Campbell I could come back to MSA as a new patient . But when I showed up at MSA the women at the desk said I owed twenty dollars from a past due bill over 10 years ago. I had filed bankruptcy a couple years ago after I couldn't keep up with all the doctors bills I received for my cancer treatments and LMH so I told her this and she would not let me see the doctor until I gave her proof of my bankruptcy. I was able to turn in a copy of my bankruptcy papers and was set up for an appointment the following week. Well my brother passed away and he lived in Michigan I was his only next of kin and so I had to go to Michigan to take care of his estate. Losing my brother was just devastating to me he was and is the only family I had left. When I called to cancel this appointment they acted like i was lieing or something and wanted to know if I wanted to reschedule I just lost my brother my whole world was upside down and all they cared about was this appointment. Anyway I ended up in Michigan for a while until I sold my brothers house and then I came back to Newark. I tried to make an appointment with MSA just recently and was told they didnt take my insurance but they do and i told the receptionist this. She put me on hold for twenty minutes then came back on the phone and told me billing said that they cant take me back because i ported out. I was like what does ported out mean? She said i switched doctors in 2023. No i did not. The receptionist said i signed a paper having my medical files send to another doctor. So they could not take me back. I only saw two specialist one was for my broken back and the other is for my stage 4 kidney disease. I dont know what they are talking about. I have no family doctor now and i am a brest cancer servoiur and need regular check ups as well as kidney disease. Im on a hmo so i have to stay in network and there isnt a lot of doctors around here that are in my network. Im screwed. I do believe when i canceled my original appointment after my brother past away billing must have flaged my chart because of the whole bankruptcy thing. Because at frist when I was told i owed twenty dollars from ten years ago and i said it was taken care of when i filed bankruptcy the receptionist said they couldn't let me come back. But doctor Campbell told her I could. Any how this place and pretty much most of Newark Has a real problem with Medicare even LMH doesn't take it. It's because of them I had to file bankruptcy. Know one informed me that the hospital no longer took United heath Care Medicare before I had surgery there. I ended up with a ten thousand dollar bill from them and on top of my bills for chemo and radiation I was not able to pay it off. This is wrong And the billing department at MSA and the office employess should not be thr ones deciding what paients get yo see the doctors here. Dr Campbell is still taking new paients and i need a family doctor he was my doctor for many years before i went on disablity so i should be able to go back to him. I never ported out or what ever billing thinks i did.. this is on their hands if i died from cancer.

This practice just seems to be badly understaffed. It takes days and weeks to get test results and referrels. Long hold times. You even get hung up on. I went to another doc, got referred and diagnosed in three days.

My husband and I became patients of
Dr. May approximately a year ago. Since then we both have had some health issues requiring more attention than we have required in the past. Dr.May, her NP's that we have had appt.'s with, and also her other staff have always been so kind, knowledgeable and helpful during our visits or calls to the office. They take their time with you, you don't feel rushed and they truly care about their patients. I would recommend anyone to this practice!

love the Dr May, staff I have had contact with are good. Missed a call back in regard to a test, tried calling back left on hold for over 10 minutes, was at work. Received another call, I missed on Sat asking me to call back. Was told the doctor and nurse were not in office I would have to call back on Monday!! Called today, Monday, was transferred to the back for test results on hold for over 30 minutes. No one picked back up to let me know they had not forgotten me. Sure, hope I am not dying.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES HERE
My father has visited this location 3 times now. The first time they ordered multiple unnecessary tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds. To find nothing wrong. Then at his most recent visit we were told AFTER ARRIVAL they could not do his blood work required for his surgery in a few days. They did not bother to call and let us know their machines were down. Instead our time was wasted and we were told when we arrived for his appointment. Do not waste your time, money or patience.
