I recently joined under the standard membership because there was an online discount (from $55 to only $20 for 1yr, and you can add 1 household member for free). Below are the pros and cons after my first visit to the New Albany location. Pros: -Quite possibly one of the best and largest cookies in Columbus (no, seriously) and it was only $1.50 for a cookie and a fountain drink special. -very clean store with friendly greeters and staff at the service desk -not too crowded (compared to Costco, I could actually breathe) -a great meat and deli section with lots of cuts and variety of products -BJs coupons can be combined with any manufacturer coupons -plenty of parking-membership price is great and ability to add another member for free Cons: -deals are not quite as good as Costco on most sale items/specials that were advertised -fewer brands offered overall than Costco (except deli/meat area)-no seating for the snack bar -small electronics section

BJs seems more like a wannabe, but may neverbe kind of place. Quanity, and more importantly, Quality are LACKING in most depts. For example, The eyeglass dept. promotes "name brand frames", not one of which name was recognizable. Same for the clothing, most brands are unfamiliar and priced higher than other wholesalers. There is the recognizable $4.99 whole chicken but smaller in size. They do have deli and "event planning" depts. which can be seen as a plus.A really good deal is the $55 membership fee which includes a CREDIT OF $40 ON FIRST PURCHASE (time may be limited). Also the gas here is as cheap as you will find, like another wholesale place. Overall, 2.5 stars seems appropriate for this new to the area warehouse wholesale place. I would bet the best reason to come here instead of other warehouse stores is the location maybe closer for some.

Growing up in RI my parents had a BJ's membership and a year ago, when I saw one was being built in New Albany, I was so excited! My husband and I became members as soon as we could. We love the customer service associates at this location - everyone is so helpful and lovely to interact with. The baked items and prepared foods are quite good and the value of the wholesale products are absolutely worth a membership.

I tried to buy tires at this store after they had sent multiple ads to me both regular mail and email. I called and the service rep went through the tire options, and I picked the one I liked and was given a price. He said they had the tires in stock, and I could come over there that day, but I said I would come the next day. When I went the next day, I was told rudely that I had to have an appointment to have tires put on my car and I had been given the wrong information. I was leaving town for four days so I said I would call and make an appointment when I got back in town. I did call and make an appointment and the service rep checked to make sure they had the tires I wanted. He went and looked and said he pulled the tires and would put them in my name. When I called the morning of the appointment to confirm my appointment, they couldn't find my reservation, so I was booked again for the next day and again I was put on hold and he went and checked to make sure the tires were in stock, and he came back on the phone and said they were still available. The next morning, I got a call and was told that the tires there were for somebody else, and I needed to order and pay for the tires before I would be given an installation appointment. When I told him the issues that I was having he told me that he was the tire manager, and the other BJS tire employees didn't know BJS tire policies and that I would need to come and pay for the tires before they would order them. I had already wasted so much time on them I decided to check elsewhere for tires. I would not recommend Using this location for purchasing tires.

I just want to give appreciation for Rthym. He helped me at the service desk and was very quick, professional, and helpful. This location is very calm and so far I like way better than Costco.

A warehouse grocery similar to Costco but a smaller scale. Convenient if you want smaller portions of groceries. Like you can request for smaller cuts of meats. Membership is $55/annually, but this doesn't include their discounted gas, for that you'd have to apply for their Capital One Matercard. I wouldn't give up on my Costco membership for this though.

As far as the wholesale clubs go I was impressed with what BJ's had to offer. BJ's has all the usual trappings of the Big Box Store: Massive new TVs, their own brands of popular products, bakery items, cases of toilet paper and water, cheaper gas then the places across the street.. all yours for an annualized membership fee.One big plus for me was that I didn't have to purchase a month supply of apples or lettuce if I wanted produce, they had smaller portion/quantities available. Priced well, good value. I will admit that the BJ's store brands that I have tried, Berkeley Jensen for non food and Wellsley Farms for food items, have all been good quality and are items I have or will purchase again. For me, it's just up the street so it's easier to get to than other warehouse clubs, but I'm becoming a believer and may not renew my "other" club membership.

Every time I go to BJ’s I have a good experience. They are not as big as Costco or Sam’s Club, but I like that. I don’t spend as much, especially with their pick up. They have coupons and great prices on meat. Every time I get a pick up, it is ready quickly and the people are so friendly. I love having a BJ’s so close to home.

I got a membership here due to the special they were offering when they first opened this location. I had a membership to Sam's Club which I still carry. B j's is comparable in price, yet somethings a little higher. Their store is quite a bit smaller than Sam's Club or Costco so less options. A lot of stuff that we like to buy, they do not carry here. I will tell you though that their giant blueberry muffins in the bakery are divine! The staff is always friendly and you get in and out quickly, as there's not a lot of patrons anytime I'm here.I've tried the concession stand three different times and twice I have been told no on the soft pretzel and pop for a $1.50 combo. They just simply tell you they're not making any pretzels :(.. It is always the same two middle age black ladies that tell me that..There's a Middle-aged white man that was more than willing to make one up. I was in there today and once again there were no pretzels. I didn't even bother to ask.. Don't put them on your menu if you are literally too lazy to make them!! That's on Poor Management. They are about to open a new location by me in Lewis Center. If they offer another unbelievable membership offer, I might try it again.. But will have to keep Sam's Club or Costco to go with it. If it was just a larger store with a better selection and better workers in the concession stand... I would rate a 5 star.

Have been a long standing BJs customer and this is a first that I'd low rate them. Forgot BJs card this morning and customer service rep was first of all too busy looking at his phone to pay attention. Was shopping for my mom who is the cardholder and even though her phone number is on file and they could call and verify I'm authorized (as we've done before), rep dismissed me as there was nothing he could do because of security and she would have to come in person. I explained I was shopping for her and was dismissed as there was nothing more to do. I understand protecting membership info but there needs to be better customer service options and employees shouldn't be playing with their phone at the desk. Had to leave my cart full of food and shop again later.

I go to BJ’s Wholesale for the proximity (2 mins from home) and the curbside pickup which doubles the convenience. They have always been 100% accurate with the pickup order and always friendly to me and my dog. Giving three stars to this place due to the very limited selection. For a wholesale club, I expect much more, and prices tend to not be wholesale friendly. However, there are times BJ’s has the lowest price compared to Sam’s and Costco. BJ’s had at one point DELICIOUS already-freshly-made chicken leg quarters (like Costco’s freshly made chicken). However, the last three times we’ve tried it, we were disappointed since they appeared to have been reheated and dried up.

I love this store, so much better than Costco and Sam's Club. Everyone is really friendly and I love the deli counter. Definitely not something you'll find in Sams. The deli staff are awesome as well!

Decent prices, some good coupons on the app. I like being able to check out on the app by myself. Quite a few things are pictured on their own coupons that they don't carry at this location, idk if they are all different or if this one is just smaller than normal. Please start carrying A&W rootbeer along with the Sunkist!

BJ’s or at least this location is as good as it gets. The employees were awesome and they accept all major credit cards unlike some other wholesale clubs and I personally prefer this over Costco or Sam’s solely on the criteria that there are not a lot of people coming in and that is nice. Overall, would definitely recommend this.

Love, love, love BJ's! I have been a member with BJ's since 2019 and was so glad to find this BJ's was about to open right down the street from my new home in New Albany. We buy everything here- water, dog food, frozen items, paper items, and even tires! It's hard to beat the prices, and they have great customer service as well. I recently learned while checking out that you can clip coupons in the BJ's app, and the discounts will automatically apply when you check out. So cool and convenient! We also belong to Costco, but we prefer BJ's. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!
