Hands down the scummiest underhanded company in the world.
I caretaker for my 91 year old grandfather and we're on food stamps.
What happens when a corporate giant lies to a nobody on assistance and causes their monthly food allotment to spoil?
AES is going to cause my family to go hungry and they couldn't care less.

Straight up crooked company. Moved out of my apartment and put in a stop service request. It went through and I had a confirmation number. Without notice or my knowledge, they put my name back on the apartment and continued to charge me. Now I'm out at least $50+ since I had to put in another stop service request, and that's if they don't put my name back on the apartment again. You're better off burning your own coal for energy than using AES Ohio.

I don’t care for this company because the company workers are driving around from house to house cutting off customers power without any notice or warnings. They don’t do anything to let customers know why they’re coming out or knock on the doors

0 stars if it was an option. If the wind blows from the wrong direction, you can bet you won't have power. These idiots will use ANY excuse to blame on their outages. Insider tip- it's just incompetence. Literally the worst and least educated company in existence. Their executives have bribed the correct people though, and it's your only choice. Didn't they used to call that a monopoly? Wasn't there a length of braided fibers that prevented this? There was, and we should go back to that method of deterrence

DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE. I bought months ago and moved in a little over a month ago. I called weeks before I moved in to register an account with them (took a ridiculous amount of time 30-45 minutes on the phone with customer service some lady repeatedly asking the same questions over and over wasting my damn time) all of this and she says all good to go with the account. Few days later need some affadavit to prove I own this house. My realtor contacts them, once again he’s told all good to go!!! Autopay all set up and have my bank info! For the last few weeks I can’t access my account to see if I’m getting charged, if the service is going or anything. Nope nothing helpful. March 28th electric randomly shut off without a single warning. No letter, email, call, text. NOTHING and shut off my power. I have to call 5 times myself, realtor twice, and my boyfriend 4 times and they give us NO sympathy or any help whatsoever. They are useless and do not care about anyone but themselves. Lie about “giving me all these warnings and I knew it was coming.” Good thing I’ll be switching providers before I “reregister” my account after my document is FINALLY approved. Please do not waste your time, money, and frustration. Literally in tears yesterday because of this company treating me like trash and not being helpful.

Absolutely horrendous customer service and attitude. I called on 11 March to establish service for the house we are renting, and scheduled it to start on 15 March.
The agent told me to submit a scanned copy of my driver's license, which I did. On the 15th around 1200, my power was cut off. We got in touch with the company, who told us I was supposed to send a NOTARIZED copy of my DL AND social security card. They also said they didn't have a phone number on file, despite the fact that I gave them my number.
So, now I'm in an air bnb for the weekend with my large family, at the cost of $1300. Thanks a lot, AES.

Some idiot signed up for an account with my address then canceled it. AES did not catch this, so I've been without power for 36 hours. I didn't know you hired directly from Jerry's Kids. They have done nothing to try to make this right. My account was 2 years old with zero missed payments and it just went poof overnight. You people have no idea what you're doing and allowed all of my food to spoil, are you going to pay for it? Probably not, see you in court.

honestly if I could give zero stars I would. I genuinely do not understand how they are robbing people. I have made 100,000 complaints something’s not right about this company. They are not listening to me when I tell them a bill should not be $1,000 after two months and I live in a 2 bed room apartment.

I just called to ask about starting service. The lady I spoke to was completely unprofessional and extremely rude. If I could leave a zero start review I would
