I'm writing this review months after installation so my comments would not be emotional.The company that renovated our kitchen recommended Hammonds to install our floor. So we went with them.The workers - An older guy (I'll call him Rusty) and a young guy, (I'll call him Dustin). Rusty seemed skilled but complained about the cabinets already being installed (we confirmed with Hammonds that this would be okay, that they could work around it). When I asked Rusty about the installation process, he said something like, "We're going to start down there and move this way." That was it. Dustin - when he wasn't listening to his high-decibel shouting music - tried to follow Rusty's instruction but clearly wasn't as skilled. When I engaged in conversation with Dustin, he mostly talked about how tough he is and about his fighting escapades. Rusty took frequent breaks and, one afternoon, was gone for a while shopping at the garage sale down the street.The work - The flooring itself is nice (because I gave the exact make and model to match what we had). The workmanship, however, was poor. The floor creaks/pops in spots (like there is a gap underneath). There are end-to-end gaps between many of the boards and some nicks. They used putty to fill the gaps - not even the right color - so it's obvious. There are bigger gaps under the stove and other places that I'm sure they thought would be hidden. They face-nailed many spots where there would have been plenty of room for the flooring nailer. When they tore out the floor trim, they damaged it so it couldn't be used again. Now we can't match it. They nailed down a reducer at the hallway entry but it sticks up AND is not at all similar to either flooring. They left a grease spot on the wall on the way out to the garage; they were aware of it but did nothing about it. Their cleanup was not thorough, leaving sawdust and nail remnants.The company - When I called with my concerns, all the lady did was take the shoe molding off my bill because it wasn't installed. I asked for Floyd to come out and look at the job but she said he doesn't do that.Conclusion - This is the worst installation experience I've ever had. I will never use Hammonds again. Comparatively, the contracted Lowe's installers did a much better job on another floor we had done.All of this is absolutely true. I thought others should know about it.

Hammonds Hardwood flooring has finished the flooring on several of my homes. Quality Work, Clean, Great price and on-time! Will continue using him on all my future projects!

Had 3 rooms and a hall refinished. I was in a time crunch and they would be finishing about 24-48 hours before the movers were scheduled. I was afraid they would not finish and all our furniture would have to go to the basement. But, they were finished when they said they would be. During the process of refinishing the floors we were bringing small loads and storing in the basement so I got a chance to peek at the process. The sanding went well and the floors were beautiful. I was told they would put 3 different stains on the floor and I would pick the one I wanted but that didn't happen. One day I was dropping things off and the entire floor had been stained. It was fine, it was what I wanted but I was expecting choices. Next was the polyurethane or whatever they coat it with. I was there the evening after the first coat was applied and was very disappointed in how it looked. There were puddles and bare spots. That's all it was. It was not rolled out and spread evenly. I was glad at that point there was going to be another coat. I did take pictures that day. The next day was the second coat and we did not see it immediately after. When we finally got in we found the threshold leading to the bathroom is very crooked and there's no reason it should be. Poor craftsmanship. It's a decent doorway. Also, I found at least 2 spots where the poly laid in a puddle and formed a peak that has broken off. Since I know there were puddles I can see where the puddles dried but other's don't notice. One last complaint. I had to repaint all of the baseboards, which were freshly painted, because there was something sprayed all over them (stain or poly). The floors are pretty, we get lots of compliments but I would not hire these people again.

We used Hammonds previously and hired them again, even though they were overpriced, because they did a pretty good job. This time, our experience has been terrible! The install had many cracks big enough for a fingernail to fit inside and some knothole divots we asked to be patched after the job was supposed to be done. The owner even saw the shoddy patch job and used an inferior product saying he filled it. The owner has given us pushback about fixing these spots and still didn't complete it!! The owner rude to to my wife, lied about the products he uses and tried to placate is with an inferior patch job. We will not be using them again or recommending Hammonds to anyone we know.

Hammonds did an excellent job refinishing our floors. They communicated clearly and consistently throughout the process. Their employees are craftsman and take pride in their work. It was a pleasure to work with them and will use them again.

Hammonds Flooring was excellent to work with. All work was on time and delivered as promised. If we decide to install Hardwood on our steps I will contact them again

We hired Hammond's to install 4 inch white oak flooring on our entire first floor, about 1000 sf. We selected the Early American stain and satin finish. We chose the flush registers and had Hammond's install the shoe molding. We stayed home during the 3-4 days of sanding and stayed at a local bnb during the staining and poly coating. We did the tear out of the previous floor, but it would have been worth it to let Hammond's handle that. The time and cost of the dumpster didn't save us much. Communication was excellent during the process and the floors are beautiful.

I had Hammond refinish all our 1st floor hardwood in 2018 - $4349.Today I called their office and inquired about the stain they created for our floor's color. I explained that I'm trying to match their stain color for a railing I'm installing. The lady on the phone didn't seem very eager to help. I had to keep digging for answers and she was of no help to find a solution. After providing our address and last name, she put me on hold for 5 minutes - probably because I wasn't sure of when the work was done - and when she returned she said they have no record of our name or address.While on hold, I found their emailed quote and gave them the quote #. She said it still doesn't help with my problem. The only solution she offered was for me to sent a photo of the floor and they would try to guess what color it started as, of course, this is of no use because they mix colors custom on site. So be advised: if you have hire this company for your floors, make sure you have the technician log his color mix or you will never be able to reproduce. BTW - they do not keep record of which installer did the work either. I would be happy to pay him to come out and try to rematch the color, but this was not offered.I would rate my experience with Hammond as follows: Technician attitude, 5, performance 3 (he did job by himself - said at the time he should have help), Company - 2 (poor record keeping, unprofessional business practices), Attitude of lady on phone, 0.

The other feedback around communication is right on. The quality of their work was outstanding. The communication between them and us and their crew left a lot to be desired. If they could get their scheduling in order and openly share how much time the job will take to finish, they would have a winner.

Hammonds Hardwood was great to work with. Floyd gave us a reasonable price and Rusty did a great job installing a 3/4” hardwood floor. They also completed the job a day early! Thanks!

This is the third job they've done for me and each room they do is done excellently. I was pleased to use refinished wood for our family room. They matched it well and it took only a few days to install. Great work.

Hammonds just finished my kitchen and bathroom and I couldn't be happier. Chrissy in the office is very friendly and handles everything punctually. The installer, Rusty, was always on time and did excellent work. When I had an issue with the flooring where my tub with legs was going they came back right away and fixed the problem. Pricing was very fair. I would encourage anyone to use this company. Excellent!
