After being a member for 2 years I cancelled because of a lack of aquatic safety and terrible management. The lifeguard told another gym member he could get in my swimming lane while I was kicking on my back without telling me. I had no idea he was there. He rammed into my head and gave me a concussion. The lifeguard wouldn’t get out of her chair to help me when I asked. The aquatic director, Mary Beth, also refused to help me when I tried to talk to her about the incident and her lifeguard not helping me. She only cares about people if they are elite athletes. Since I’m not an elite athlete she wouldn’t help. She lied to me and told me she was going to talk to the man and then she never even did that. She just kept telling me I had to share the lane… which I would have accommodated but I had no way of knowing he was there.Sharon, the general manager, just doesn’t want to deal with anything so she just ignores communication. She lied on the incident report to curb responsibility. If you hear a member cuss make sure to tell her though! That is one thing she will address. I said some cuss words from having a head injury and the only thing she cared about was telling me I can’t curse. She refuses to even talk to the man about making sure the swimmer in the lane already knows you are sharing the lane.

I was disappointed with the renovations made to the old heisley racquet club. Seems like they did as little as possible. However, I can say the indoor pool was very nice. Workout equipment was not impressive. Very minimal.

If you don't really want to work out, this is the gym for you.The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable, especially the aquatics team. Everything is new and pretty (if you like working out in a space that looks like a doctor's office). But.Literally everything about the facility feels undersized and cramped. The studios are ridiculously small, so is the free weight area and the TVs. Yet the membership goal is 5-6 thousand members.I've never seen the climbing wall in use. The one time I asked, I got a non-answer. So don't plan on climbing

Fitness coach was very helpful. Lots of equipment so didn't feel crowded. Many options to take advantage of in future visits.

Great place just wish it had better hours. It closes pretty early.

The hours constantly change they shut down areas completely random - no notice you kinda find out after your there. It's relatively clean but at $125 a month on average it's not as well kept as it should be! I have to use the hot tub because of a medical requirement after I work out and it's a crap shoot if it's open. You can join planet fitness for $10 and workout as well as here if not slightly better. I pay the higher price for the entities that are required medically. Started out strong but went down hill now that heisley is gone and it's your ONLY choice. Instead of at least staying good it's gone way down hopefully mentor re opens heisley soon so we have a choice again but spending tax money I'm sure it will take years for the city to re open the facility so it will be years of aggravation

I called to cancel my membership on November 15th, they told me it takes 30 days to cancel so another payment will come out of my account December 1. I think this is robbery since it's coming out of my debit and all they need to do is to stop it. Beware the rules have changed since it was acquired by UH, Very disappointed.

Mask required to enter the gym. Temperature check is done by a scanner. Equipment has been moved and spaced out. A mask is NOT required during working out. Members are required to clean equipment after use and staff also clean certain items. There are limits on people using the hot hot tub and pool. Locker rooms are open and doors should be left open afterwards for cleaning.
