I have been going to Jake Bixel for hair cuts and color for the past 20 years. Any woman will tell you that's a long time to be loyal to one hairdresser! Why haven't I tried another hairdresser/salon in 20 years? Because there has been no need. Jake is a highly skilled professional who is kind and welcoming to all who enter his salon, whether it is a client or delivery person. He listens to his clients and asks if you have experienced any hair challenges since your last appointment. I think the biggest compliment that I can give is that a friend's mother said that if I hadn't told her I get my hair colored, she would have never known because it looks so natural. All of the hairdressers in his salon are extremely talented and personable. If you want to feel like a million bucks, call for an appointment at Bixels Salon in Mentor. (440) 357-9278

I started going here, maybe a year to a year and a half ago. I am very picky about my hair, so when I found Bixels, I was ecstatic. I trusted enough to bring my kids. And my daughter would always be so excited to hear that she was going to get her haircut there.My daughter decided she wanted to get pink highlights and her hair cut prior to going back to school. We were referred to the daughter since she specializes in this type of hair color. It was already known that we had used box dye in the past, Wella Color Charm from Sally Beauty and the last time she used this dye was at the beginning of 2023.It has been one week since her hair was highlighted, and it's already coming out and turning orange. I was scolded for using the box dye and was told that was the reason it didn't take. We spent $180 and left a $40 tip.I was then told by jake that his daughter had put so much time and effort into my daughter's hair and that she didn't get paid for the time or color used to try to even achieve the desired look. I guess you should know your worth maybe you should charge what you should charge instead of cutting people deals and then feeling cheated in the end. How are customers supposed to know how much they should be charged for these types of services. My daughter is now devastated and is upset about the way her hair looks and I have no clue how to fix it for her.I let the owner know that we would not be returning to his salon. And he threw in my face the fact that he offers free bang trims and I would lose out on this if I left. WOW!Unless he was talking about others, it sounded as if he was also accusing me of not tipping or forgetting to tip. Look at all my credit card slips, tips on them all. You get a cash tip with bang trims.Again, I'm not an expert at dying hair. Consult with your clients if you don't think something will work. It was known it wasn't going to take at the beginning. My daughter just told me they were having problems with the color while she was in the chair. I'll learn a few lessons from this experience, for sure. Such a shame.

I have been getting my hair cut here for the last few years. The staff are so nice. Also like to get pedicure sometimes. Very relaxing environment and the Christmas decorations are so nice during the winter.

Hair salons are a dime a dozen...but if you are reading this you are probably like me and choosing a salon and a Stylist is about as important as picking a doctor! We've all been there.. crying for days because your new cut makes you look like a squirrel!! Well sometimes life is kind and you find a cool comfortable salon and a Stylist that is not good, not average.. but is 100% an Expert Stylist. That is what I found (thankfully!) when I walked into Bixels Studios. I was greeted very warmly as soon as I walked in the door by a friendly guy who walked up to me before I even made it to the counter! I knew that this guy knew his stuff by the way he automatically touched my hair and knew exactly what cut would work with my fine hair - he also noted my personal style and was so easy to talk too! This friendly guy is Jake, the Owner of the salon. He makes you feel comfortable and secure because of his confidence and way of cutting is so expertly done! Is he pricey? Yep. But remember the aforementioned squirrel hairstyle that made you cry...? Well there is NO CRYING in Bixels Studio! Even tho I LOVED my cut, I called and asked if we could make an adjustment.. and he was so nice about it and did not charge me extra. Although they seriously need a new website, I'm so glad I walked in just to check it out. You should too! Ask for Jake.

This is a nice salon and spa that has a welcoming ambiance to it.The owner "truly loves his job/passion" and the time he spends with his customers shows it. He welcomes ideas and adds a touch of his own talent to it to insure there will be a happy customer in the end.

I absolutely love Bixel’s and have highly recommended it to friends and family. The salon itself is beautiful - decorated nicely, very clean, and quite spacious. What truly sets it apart from other salons - and in my opinion the most crucial element of any business - is the staff. Everyone is very friendly, professional, and quick to smile! My appointment was with Lisa who was simply awesome. She was on time, so sweet, VERY talented (my nails looked absolutely amazing and the manicure lasted over 2 weeks!), and the price was great.
