10x20 unit had recurring humidity issues which caused mold and significant moisture damage the first few months. The obvious drainage issues near my unit were corrected immediately after my complaint but the owner refused compensation and suggested instead, that I get a new insurance policy and then commit insurance fraud. The unit dried up with new drainage installed. It's been dry ever since but the owner has inconsistent billing practices and a Jeckyl/Hyde customer service attitude. For example, when he ran the numbers on my card incorrectly two months in a row, he cut my lock, locked me out with his lock and left a threatening message for me. When I pointed out his mistake, he allowed me back in but didn't seem to understand at first that he owed me a new lock. He finally provided it and our terms improved.This year, I unpacked a few boxes and found more items with significant moisture damage. I sent the owner a photo and asked again, very politely for some type of compensation. He never replied but when I noticed that he didn't charge my card for nearly two months, I sent him another text thanking him for the compensation and letting him know that it was sufficient. Turns out he either forgot or made another billing mistake. He did finally charge my card just one day prior and responded to my message by ordering me out by the end of July. I tried to reason with him but he made it crystal clear that his order was final.When I threatened to take legal action and protest, he called the police and demanded that I stay off the property without their presence. I do have bank records to prove several mistakes on his part including the most recent but he is impossible to reason with so the bank records won't do me any good unless we go to court.

Dan was such an upscale guy to deal with. I was going through a difficult situation (break up) had to move quick. Contacted him in the morning through the website and within a few hours he got back to me and we met that afternoon and I had a storage unit. Great guy and storage there is amazing. Secure and safe for all your belongings. I highly recommend Dan-Cal!! And for the price, you can’t beat it.

Great place for storage! Dan is super nice and very easy going. Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a storage unit. Hard to find good customer service these days so it was refreshing to find it here!

I have had a great experience with my two storage units here. Access and location has been perfect and it is very nice and quiet every time I go to get something out of my storage units. The owner is super nice, I definitely recommend this facility.

Responds quickly to phone / text messages. Very easy to work with - nice units - effortless access in and out. Have had other storage units in Medina and other cities in US and this was the easiest ever! Will definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.

Terrible. Major humidity damage after only 5 months of storage. Unit is obviously too humid. Mold growing on all of my furniture and many smaller items. Everything was bone dry and clean in May. Now, it's moldy and smells of mildew. The buildings on the right side as you pull in are mostly surrounded by higher land. The area does not appear to drain properly. Many pools and muddy ruts of standing water on property surrounding my storage unit. When I tried to work with Dan for compensation, he suggested that I get insurance and then scam the insurance company. That makes Dan a crook. The timing is a nightmare but now, I have no choice but to document the damage, move out of DanCal Storage, spend many hours cleaning mold, throw out items beyond repair and inform others of the drainage/humidity issue and Dans suggestion that I scam an insurance company.
