I was pleasantly surprised at the attention and care that came from this facility. Kudos to their willingness to squeeze us in for an urgent issue with our dog. Their process of dropping off our pet to a later meeting to go over all that was found was superior to all my experiences since we are all so busy, this made it most convenient. Dr. Hicks explained everything in detail and answered all our questions very compassionately and completely. I'm switching from a vet 2 minutes away because I didn't just feel like a number here.

I can't say enough about the excellent care my dog Massimo received. I called at 7:45 a.m. to say my dog was being treated for pancriatitis and was going down hill. My information was taken by Mykala who called me back in 15 minutes. She said, " we are booked out two weeks, but Dr.. Hicks said to bring him right in. I met with Dr. Hicks at 4 p.m. that day. He took his time and eplained my dog's ex-rays. Then he read his whole file and blood tests. The following day I had new food, which my dog likes, and medicine. My dog is now eating, has no diarraha, and his digestive system is improving. Dr. Hicks and his staff, Mykala, Katie, Amanda were so kind to me and were all focused on getting my dog well!! I couldn't be happier. ! Joanne Blakemore

The receptionists are not trained properly. I called to book an appointment and was told they would call me back. Strange, but okay I waited patiently for an hour and a half. What if I had things to do and couldn’t sit around all morning waiting for a call? I finally received my callback and during the appointment booking process I was placed on hold twice. I asked why and was told they had to answer the phone for other clients. Why? I’m the client currently on the phone I should be able to book my appointment without interruption. The booking process took longer than necessary.
The client physically infront of you or on the phone should be served first. Maybe they should have an answering machine, hire more receptionists, or let the phone ring and clients call back.
When I suggested this they seemed baffled. If this is how reception is run then I can’t imagine what else behind the scenes is run poorly.

Despicable. Hundreds and hundreds of dollars spent to resolve an issue with blood in urine. At least $600 later they couldn’t “pin point” it but sent us home with antibiotics….. which did NOT resolve the issue. Now here we are at an EMERGENCY clinic because I refuse to take her back to AMVH. A simple urinalysis here proved a UTI and they are treating it with an antibiotic more specific to the problem. Because it wasn’t treated correctly to begin with, she is now forming crystals and has a ton of bacteria in her bladder. P.S. - Prior to THIS situation, I spent $1200 at AMVH for teeth cleaning and extraction of 8 teeth and less than a week later my pets breath was just as terrible as before I brought her in. TOTAL RIP OFF. DO NOT take your pet to this establishment!!

As usual, Dr. Hicks and his staff do an amazing job. Took puppy to get neutered and all went well. Always pleasant on the phone and in person. Can’t say enough good things about this practice.

We have taken our fur babies to Akron-Medina Veterinary Hospital for years. We love all the staff and the love and support they provide our family. I would not trust our animals to anyone but Dr. Steven Hicks!

Dr Hicks and the team have taken great care of our fur baby since she was a pup. She is 6 years old now.Two surgeries and general care, we are very happy. The staff is friendly and caring.No issues.

We didn't know what else to try. Our vet had done everything they were able to try. Our baby girl is so much better and happy again

Horrible service. Had to board my dog here for a bit of time. Always came in she was filthy, smelled like urine all the time. She had bites all over her ears and continued to have ear infections all the time. She was completely neglected. She had surgery and I had to keep taking her back to vet because of how horrible they ran the facility because she kept getting infected in the incision. I would NEVER Recommend them. They said her incision was gashed open and she had to leave. When I picked her up it was slightly red. Vet told me it was from the uncleaned environment they ran. Please run far away from this place. Staff is rude and have no compassion for animals. They are just money hungry. The groomer is rough and harsh with the animals. I could go on for days on this place. Have to put one star to post this but I wouldn’t give them a half of a star.

Said my 8 month old puppy snapped at a tech but the pup never showed any other aggression and still hasn't now that she's almost 2 with anyone but she was scared of almost all new people after that day she spent with them for months .... mind you she was a very social puppy before then and loved all new people parties etc. so come to you're own conclusions with that I belive she was definitely not treated nice at all so we never came back to let her be mistreated ....... her new vet and my 2 other dogs both love the new vet who are much nicer and definitely a more personable vet and not a numbers game vet and HALF the price for the same exact brand meds and shots
