Hello Marc's Management,I would like to share my experience shopping at Marc's on East Gate Plaza in Mayfield Heights from yesterday October 19th 2023 between 4 to 4:50 pm.I was at the register #7 and cashier entered incorrect price for one of my items. I asked him to double check the price because it was on sale. He asked his supervisor to double check the price. She was on the phone with the meat department for at least 5 minutes but they did not even answer the phone. I was patiently waiting.Then, something strange happened. She and the guy cashier left the store saying nothing to me or the other cashiers. They were missing for 15-20 minutes. I was waiting, asking other cashiers where they were. Then, I saw them entering the store from the parking lot.I thought they were coming to the register but they went to the back of the store and were missing for another 10-15 more minutes. I was still waiting. Finally they came back. The cashier at the register #7 finished my transaction, I paid and left the store.Everything was recorded at cameras inside and outside the store. I have never been treated this way at Marc's at Golden Gate Plaza, Mayfield, OH. I been a customer there for 28 years!I wonder where they went, what took so long to check the price for one item? The supervisor and the cashier totally ignored me and just left the store and disappeared for 30 minutes. Also, upon checking the receipt, I noticed that incorrect price for $7.98 was never refunded and they actually charged me for it!

I used to love this Marcs. I always knew that it was a bit dirty, cramped,loud, and filled with semi-rude employees but i disregarded that because i was able to get cheap food here. But within the past 3 months, my eyes have been opened completely. I had a job interview here and was given barely any instruction on where to meet the manager. When I asked the customer support employees where I should go, they got annoyed at me and gave me very vague instructions on where to go. I had to the back of the store and wait by the employee's only door for the manager. After waiting 10 minutes they finally came and had very little energy. She slowly guided me all the way across the long employees-only hall, which was filled with rotting produce or smashed fruit and damaged boxes of food. It looked like half of their products were damaged and in the employees-only area. Finally, I went in the managers office and did the normal interview stuff and left. I was kinda starting to realize how gross the store actually was after that. I didn't take the job but I did come back a few times to get food or drinks occasionally but my mind had become more aware and so I was able to look harder into everything to see how bad this store actually was. I realized that all the negativity I knew about was worse than I thought. Employees treat everyone like garbage,smells terrible inside,expired food (Typically juice),broken or opened containers of food, constant theft (watched a few people pocket some stuff but I didn't want to snitch), aisles are very narrow,floor looks disgusting and its filled with stains/cracks. My last straw with marcs was today. If I were to review this store before the experience I had today, my review would probably be 2.5-3 stars. Anyways today I walk inside in search of energy drinks. I navigate through the narrow aisles and go to where they keep "Rip-It energy fuel". I could barely tell the price of everything. On the container it said the price but under some of them the tag was different. But most of the tags were missing or damaged and you could barely read them. I finally decided to just grab 2 and wait in line. it took forever to finally be rung up. After she said my total this is what happened. I handed her spare change and there was maybe 2 quarters. I KNOW THIS IS A BIG INCONVENIENCE BUT IT WAS ALL I HAD BECAUSE I DONT MAKE ALOT OF MONEY. The mean cashier looked at me and sad "Are you serious right now???" and got very pissed but still counted the change. I quietly apologized and tried to explain that it was all I had but she didn't answer me. Finally she counted it all and then threw my receipt at me barely even trying to hand it over. I get that being given spare change sucks but seriously that was super rude. Screw whoever was working in register 3 at 12:40 today!!!

This locaton of Marcs is by far one of the 1st of many that I can say is my favorite, I have experienced disappointment last week and then today, I don't know if the problem is new management or ownership but the shelf in the front close to the register with plants is a MESS, succulents are being drown in water, plants not placed in the proper section based on prices so when you take one to the register the price is higher than whats on the shelf or has a different price altogether which isn't on the shelf at all. Mars seems to be going downhill, I asked to speak to a manager he said he was the manager, I asked for his name he didnt want to give it. This makes me feel like regular employees are answering the phones pretending to be the lead person because the guy had an attitude, young folks don't seem to be mature enough to be in supervisory positions nor management, they say disrespectful comments, I let it go, someone else might take things to the extreme because the disrespect is real. Folks are on posters that say missing. No matter who you are or where you work, don't be disrespectful and don't be rude. Folks working jobs they don't even want yet they took it. I probably wont return to Marcs, it's no longer the wonder that it used to be, I will also say I bought for soups for 3.97, Dan Dee Cheese curls, shrimp , popcorn and two hot tamale candies and that came upto $38.00.... I am now resorting to growing my own fruits and vegetables. Corporate greed is ridiculous

Rude express lane cashier August 9 2023 4:13 pm, Jenise O was very much worried about my cart instead of ringing up my groceries while I was trying to watch my total ,then proceeded to badger me more about my cart as I left out of the store as if was a child she was talking to,telling me where to put my cart and how I should put it .

KATHY , KATHIE , KATHY . Very tall white lady who is so rude to her black employees . I’ve been staying in mayfield heights over 20 years and every time I come to shop KATHY is being rude, disrespectful, throwing items at ONLY her black employees. She must think since the store isn’t up to date it’s appropriate to treat black workers like slaves. TONIGHT I DONE SEEN ENOUGH!!!! Respectful cashier was ringing me out until rudely interrupted by KATHY throwing items on the belt telling the cashier during my transaction that she needs to put things away . She literally threw the items at the cashier. I am so sad how Marc’s mistreats their employees . I will not have my teen working at any Marcs location if Someone like Kathy is in charge . How could Marc’s let someone like Kathy represent their company in such poor behavior !!

I will not be back .used to shop there a lot but got sick and tired of rude cashiers .most of them are rude to white people and very polite to people of color. It's so rude. The management needs to pay more attention to their actions. I will be going to target and aldis

The owner should remodel this dump! ALSO, HIRE SOME DECENT CASHIERS!!! They are a bunch of rude, lazy women who act like they are doing you a favor to ring you out. Very weird. This is the norm at Marcs. Molasses is much faster than they are. AWFUL STORE MANAGEMENT! The worn floor has needed replacing for a long time. Always looks dirty. Owner has to have more respect and regard for the shoppers. Prices are not that cheap and the public deserves better. Will not be patronizing this store anymore. The owner should be ashamed, but then highly doubt he cares or would have rectified the situation a long time ago.

Your employees are real rude and impatient. Customer service was terrible and I had a couple of things and this lady who had a black scarf on joked with her coworker saying "don't we have a express line" very rude what kinda establishment is this. You have an express but you also have open line and workers for a reason.

Be careful when shopping at the Mayfield Hts Marc's. They have many items on the shelves that are expired. Most recently in the deli dept there was a sealed brick of cheese that was expired and there were about a dozen packages of Bpb Evan's sausage on the counter that were expired as well. Customer Service was made aware, I hope they were pulled. As for the cheese, I hope they don't try to slice it up and sell it.

I was in line talking to my sister about how unfortunate it was the there were only 3 lines open and everyone was doing holiday shopping. An employee asserted herself into our conversation loudly and incredibly rudely said “we would have more registers open if we had more people working here!.” I was just saying to my sister that everyone has help wanted signs in their windows so I get it. The employee kept on going and yelling back to us very passive aggressively. Then proclaimed herself to be a manager. That made her behavior that much worse in my opinion and I expressed that to her. A man walked in our direction and said he was also a manager and he would address the employee about her behavior. I highly doubt that he will! That last woman was the third employee to be rude to us while we were shopping there. Marc’s really needs to work on the quality of people they hire. I will not step foot in this Marc’s location again.

I got in line at register 2. I spoke to the Cashier and she didn’t speak back. Instead she asked the lady standing behind her was she getting a break today. She sat her stool that she had at the register looking at the items I had put on the conveyor belt, then got up and turned her light off. I asked her did she want me to go to another line. She said “Yes, if You don’t mind”. Of course I mind but it was obvious that she didn’t want to ring me out. I had to go stand in line all over again, but at least the Cashier was welcoming.

Very disappointing experience. The cashier was insolent and rude. Going to stick to target. I don't need the bs. In here again. I knew better coming here... Smdh again.
