“I've been wearing Red Wing boots for over 10 years now, and it's a tradition that runs deep in my family. My old man wore them, and his old man before him. As an auto worker, my boots take a beating, so when I recently wore out a pair after three years of regular use, I headed to the Red Wing store in Maumee to get them resoled and to pick up a new pair for hiking.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an extremely knowledgeable and friendly worker who went above and beyond to help me out. He got my old boots sent off for repair and took the time to fit me for a new pair. The fitting process was thorough—he had me walk around the store with different pairs on both feet, used a machine to scan my feet, and even analyzed the wear pattern on my old boots to see how my weight was distributed while working in them. He explained that with my high arches, certain styles and materials could affect comfort and wear over time.

After trying on several pairs, I found a boot that felt just right in the store. However, the next day at work, I noticed that as my feet swelled during the day, the boots became too tight and started to cut into my feet. I went back to the store and, luckily, ran into the same guy who had helped me before. He immediately offered to exchange the boots for a wider size at no extra cost. He even ordered both a wide and a double-wide from the distributor to ensure I had all the options available. He also offered me a loaner pair off the shelf so I wouldn't be without boots for work, but I ended up using an older pair I had until the new ones arrived.

The new boots came in quickly, and after all was said and done, I now have the most comfortable and rugged pair of boots I've ever worn. I feel like I could climb Everest in these things! Plus, when my old boots came back from resoling, they didn't just resole them—they also relined the inside. Aside from the weathered leather on the outside, they're as good as new.
