I purchased a Basco framed pivot swing door almost 2 years ago but, because of myriad reasons, I failed to replace the door (the same door installed when we had the house built 30 years ago) until now. When I began installing it, I noticed the parts pack with hinges, screws, etc, were not in the box. Fortunately, I had the email recept bought through Lowe's in my email. I sent all the info, including the email order to Basco and was assisted by the delightful Michelle Grau who sent the parts pack without hesitation! Thanks to Michelle and Basco for honoring the customer!

I will begin by addressing all of the other complaints about the shower doors exploding. This is very easily resolved by Bosco by doing a "Heat Soak Test". It is incredibly irresponsible for any company using tempered glass to skip this step.
Now... for my own personal bad experience... I am in the middle of a dispute with Basco. I have been holding off posting my review because I fear they will delay my order. Today I found out they were delaying my order anyhow... so, why not help others to understand just how bad this company is and hopefully avoid them making the same mistake I made.
I see that someone responds to every review in an attempt to show that they care. Let me be perfectly clear... they do not care one bit. I am now 3 months (from the day I originally ordered it) into my shower door installation, and I still do not have what I need to complete my installation.
I tried initiating a return because they have proven to be incapable of providing me what I need, and I was told they only allow returns if it is in the original, unopened box. What a scam... they sell garbage, and then do not allow you to return it.
Never, ever again.
Do not bother adding you boiler plate response of "we really care, call our customer service". I fell for that about three times already. Customer service only gives more excuses, and no solutions. Any reputable manufacturer would have prioritized fixing their mistake, or let me make a return.

Here is a re-post of the review we put on Basco Shower Door Company's website as well as on Yelp. Initially we got a response for additional information from Basco, but they have gone silent to our replies for a week now...very poor customer service. When a product fails and causes injury and damages, a company should be prompt and respectful during the claim procedure. To date, they have not acknowledged their responsibility or provided us with any compensation.
Something to consider before purchasing a Basco shower door...
In November of 2023 we ordered a Basco Rolaire 395-59 shower door, and it was installed in mid-December. On December 29th, I finished taking a shower and opened the door to get my towel and the door shattered. I didn't move, glass was everywhere, Thankfully my husband was home. He heard the crash and came to help me. He laid down towels and gave me water shoes to walk out on. If he wasn't home, I don't know how I would've gotten out of the shower, aside from walking on glass which covered the entire bathroom floor and out the hallway. I had cuts all over my calves and feet. Two spots were bleeding a lot so my husband bandaged them and we went to the ER.
On our way to the ER , My husband called the dealer who sold us and installed the Basco door. They asked how I was and offered to help clean up the mess when we returned from the ER, which they promptly did. They also inspected the situation and said it was installed correctly but the glass must not have been tempered correctly. The dealer put us in touch with the regional sales rep for Basco.
Several days later when my husband heard back from the rep she was defensive and not very helpful. As soon as he mentioned property damage and injury as a result of the incident she refused to discuss the matter further and referred us to the corporate office. It took several calls from the dealer on our behalf before someone from Basco corporate finally called back. When they did, it was not someone who was in a position to make a decision and they indicated we needed to email pictures and invoices for the damages. We have done that and to date have yet to hear back from Basco.
We were not seeking damages other than what our costs were:
$1,323.30 for the ER visit
$712 to replace the damaged tile bench in the shower
$200 to replace a scratched cabinet door
$100 for towels
We are still finding shards in the bathroom and I still have scars that are healing. It hurt to wear shoes for a month and I have to go back to the doctor because I think there is a glass piece in one of my toes yet.
Our grandchildren use this shower, and thank God one of them was not using it when this happened because at their height, the glass could've caused serious injuries.
The defective door has been replaced with an upgraded laminated glass unit thanks to our dealer. Unfortunately, we have had to put the dealer between us and Basco so now they are out money also because of Basco's inaction.
As a company, Basco should have acknowledged the fault of their product, apologized and made it right in a timely manner. They did not.

I have a basco framed 31x66 shower door. It is the cheapest and hardest thing to install I've ever dealt with. All the fasteners and Allen wrench are obviously Chinese. Everything strips and the design of it is absolutely terrible to install. Don't get me started on there installation instructions , Good lord, what a joke. The only reason we are installing a frame glass shower door is because we had a basco frameless shower door before and it exploded when my wife opened it and cut her up and our dog pretty bad. stuck buying another one from basco due to rough opening for the shower door.

Maybe two years old. Top railing wasn't the right size. Wanted extra to fix. The towel bars have disconnected so many times. The plastic clips have broken in half just from hand tightening. Shower doors are falling off track.

I did a lot of research on buying a shower door and I am sure glad that I did! I was going to buy a cheap shower slider from Lowe's but after visiting Basco's showroom to compare quality, I was sold on their brand. Their doors are more expensive than off the shelf doors, but their quality is far better (Also learned that they are very well versed in customization) Plus, they are manufactured here in the states vs overseas.Basco does not sell direct to homeowners and I ended up purchasing through Agean Marble in Cincinnati. Agean also had a huge variety of doors on display.Overall, I am 100% happy with my purchase. This door is smooth and the extrusions are rigid unlike the doors that I seen at Lowes. Plus, with Basco being local and having a Limited Lifetime Warranty, I will never have to worry about replacement parts!Recommended!!

I had a shower enclosure installed several years ago in my house, and after a lot of use, the rubber strip on the bottom of the door got worn out. I was very surprised that they still carried this part after all these years. And getting the part and having it delivered went real smoothly. Their customer support representative was very helpful and friendly.

Ordered a semi frameless shower door through our plumbing company in WI. They sent the wrong door two weeks ago. Still have not picked up the wrong door or delivered the correct one. As a matter of fact, haven't even heard back from them for more than a week.

Good product, very poor customer service. The installer cracked shower tile during installation, and could not finish until tile was repaired. He was unapologetic and a bit rude, and left drill dust and metal shavings in the bathroom. I rushed to get tile repaired so they could finish the next day only to have another rude employee tell me they wouldn't be back out to finish until the next week. So my project is delayed yet another week, and I have to spend another day home from work to facilitate. I will never use this company again

I've purchased a custom size shower door (with a form where you measure all details of your shower/tub to make the order). Then they delivered the frames 6 " bigger than what I asked for. When i asked about my custom order, the answer was that I should cut the frame myself on the size I want...does it make sense for somebody? - - BTW, to expensive for a "fake customized".
