“Our family absolutely loves the YMCA. Sometimes we do quick trips after school. Just a hop in the pool and get a fast workout. Other times we spend our mornings here motivating and getting ourselves ready for the day. Nothing beats a good workout first thing in the morning. We love bringing the kids here and walking the track and swimming. We absolutely love the hot tub and the sauna and steam room. If you don't already have a membership here and you live in town, you should definitely consider getting one. It is most definitely worth it. Gives the whole family something to do and it keeps everybody active and healthy. You can also choose to get your children and sports through the YMCA and you can take different classes that are available as an adult and they also have child care options. You can host birthday parties here. I definitely recommend.”

“I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for anyone who is pregnant or has a baby 2 & under! They offer a variety of services: parenting classes, earn while you learn (baby bucks toward baby items), tons of ways to earn baby bucks to spend toward diapers, brand new clothes, burp rags, bottles, etc. They also sometimes have bigger items like strollers, bouncers, you name it! I recently got a swing for only $30 baby bucks and that I earned in 1-2 times of coming in, you fill a small basket of baby clothes/blankets for free everyone you go in, they offfer prayer and just a great group of supportive women who want to watch you succeed as a parent. I must say this place has helped me tremendously to have everything I need and even some of what I want for my son. Some ways to earn baby bucks are by doing a daily bread worksheet once a week, attending church’s/support groups, appointments, WIC appointments, etc. You can also attend the classes when your babies are older but most of the help you receive is for smaller babies but either way the support you receive and what they teach us is so worth going for!”

“I am thankful for the MCF allowing Pleasant to set up a fund to assist teachers in purchasing items needed in their classrooms (versus so many teachers spending their own earned funds to do so).Special thanks to Pleasant BOE member Annette Holler for having the vision to create this endowment. These funds will ensure that the staff has the needed classroom items to help their students grow in both knowledge and life skills!”

“I had to visit here in July 2023 to receive help with food and they are so nice and generous with their offerings. I was so humbled by the sheer generosity of how much they actually gave to me and my family that I cried on my way home. I was and still am so thankful that there are still people like them out here in this world today.”

“Decent place, I would probably prefer going to an actual goodwill where everything has been sorted already but if you’re cool with digging through the unknown for buried treasures this place is for you. Would recommend wearing workmen’s gloves if you go through the piles of stuff just because you just don’t know what’s there. I give it 4 stars because pricing by the pound and the chances to find awesome items gives you endless possibilities and it’s goodwill the prices are always cheap.”

“I have personally had the Pleasure and the Honor of really learning about Goodwill Industries and what they actually do! For instance did you Know that they have many programs that enhance lives, from Homless youth to Senior employment, and everything in between? Did you Know that every item donated and sold is put back to these programs? They recycle, reuse, and use what can’t/doesn’t sell into things people can’t even imagine (helping local businesses) Saving Billions of lbs. out of our landfills a year plus making parts for Huge manufacturers Nation wide, helping so many youth thru seniors and people with disabilities with employment! Emergency clothing, along with help for new employment with gas or footwear? Did you Know they have a Summer Youth employment program that helps youth learn about being in the workforce with job coaches that are onsite with them everyday? I have! And when prices went up (less than a dollar) I too said what the heck? But I will say this… is this increase MORE then your groceries? Gas? or anything else?Think about that….Thank You for reading!Sincerely,Pattie Sorrells”

“As a video production company that has worked with United Church Homes for years, we’ve had the unique privilege of seeing behind the scenes at most of their communities. Never have we worked with an organization that is so thoroughly dedicated to helping others, let alone one that does it with such determination, vigor, and grace. You can see the passion in their faces, and hear the integrity in their voices. They welcome all as family, advocate for the elderly, and continuously succeed at creating a culture of community, wholeness, and peace. If you are looking for a secure, whole-hearted place for your aging loved ones— a place that will put your loved ones’ interests above all else and keep your mind at ease— then look no further, you’ve found the right place.”
