What a beautiful stop! Such a pretty lighthouse and area on Lake Erie. Must stop now matter the season and weather!

Life is like a ferry stuck on the soles of a thousand bare feet or a child actor choosing between music and acting - the ability to do runs is helpful but not necessary.Nonsense, and worse, irrelevant, I said in response to Constable. He sullenly threw the rest of his cigarette overboard - having transitioned away from cigars after a tragic natural disaster featuring a toy rocket, two dozen eggs, and a lifelong need to prove a childhood friend wrong once and for all.But we, like the rowboat and the childhood friend, had emerged unscathed and only slightly singed, all the better for having thrown off the weight of our expectations and the police. Constable informed me that while we were too far from any significant upgrades in jurisdiction to actually escape, Lake Erie actually qualifies as international waters so we only had to remain afloat for the rest of our trip. He felt the need to clarify that I, in fact, had been the one to say all this and none of it was correct. So there we were, admiring from afar the Music Man-like pomp afforded to Marblehead Lighthouse. Lauded as both "great" and "historic," the house itself is captivated by an enthusiastic historical society of whom the worst that can be said, according to the squirrels in the area, is that Constable and I missed the 200th anniversary celebration of the lighthouse's birth. However, I, unlike the squirrels, see this as more the fault of the Gregorian calendar than of the noble volunteers of this organization. While I was working diligently and at least napping diligently the rest of the time, Constable was out showing off at a series of slam bars with the other wildlife. He came back with much more grounded stuff than usual, so I told him I would publish it as I see fit and he asked me not to:There comes a dire point in spelunkingYour own mind when you realize that the ropeIs too tight and can only hold you backAnd this is a precious moment to hopeThat the rope is not the thing keeping youSane or real or worth the trouble of breathAnd this is the time to take the rope inYour hands and thank it for stalling your deathAnd hold it tenderly and breathing deepWithin your heart feel it sever, and leap.By gad, the horse hath made me feel something.

What a beautiful park! So very well kept. We came to see the lighthouse and the surrounding area in the off season and everything was still so beautiful and maintained. We will most definitely be back soon.Restrooms: Very clean. Well stocked.

Picture perfect little lighthouse offering wonderful photographic opportunities year round. There are eagles around so you will want to keep an eye to the sky. There are several picnic tables about and the ground offer paved paths that are accessible. Enjoy a sunny summer afternoon watching the boats.Dog-friendliness: I believe dogs are permitted on leash and you clean-up after them.

Beautiful photo location with natural rock formations, beautiful lake views and fossils! I got there to late to take a tour thru the lighthouse but exploring the area was fun. I would recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Nice place to visit! Great views, and plenty of spots to stick your toes in the water. There are several picnic tables and shaded areas to relax or have lunch. There were also a couple of areas with historical and ecological information and artifacts. Too bad the lighthouse wasn't open for a look inside. There was also a giftshop that wasn't open..

Glad we made the slight diversion traveling between Cleveland and Chicago. The lighthouse and park make for a great picnic/rest stop. Nice park and enough parking. The drive around the peninsula is also very nice.

This happens to be one of our favorite go-tos in the area. Being able to sit and listen to the waves roll in is quite relaxing. They've added nice restroom facilities in recent years, enabling people to stay longer and enjoy the sights and sounds nature has to offer.During the Summer months, you are able to go up inside the lighthouse to the top. This is one of our tranquility spots. And we visit a couple times a year - even in the Winter.

It's a great day trip. If you're in Central Ohio you can go there. Just know certain times a year if you go. If you get closer to the water, the mosquitoes are really bad. They'll bite you. They'll get in your hair. They'll be in your car so keep your windows rolled up. Parking is easy. Is plenty parking to get there. Once you're there is areas you can sit, you know you can go out close to the water. If you go in the winter time when the water is frozen you can actually can walk out about 20 ft and it's frozen. Be careful onto the water but it's a nice little getaway if you just want to go up or down depending on where you coming from

They have done a lot to restore the property. The view from the top of the lighthouse was great.
