What is it with these home improvement stores that have apps that don't fully work. We ordered 11 forty pounds of pellets for the pellet stove. That is 440 pounds! I selected the free curbside pickup. Until pickup, everything went smoothly. After describing my car and its color, I punched repeatedly "I'm here" on the app only to get an error message saying something was wrong on their end. We tried several more times before giving up and calling the store. No one answered the phone. So hubby headed into the store, waited in line, until a cart was wheeled out with 11 bags of pellets. Oh no. I specifically asked for curbside pickup because we are older and that is alot of weight. I did not want him wheeling this cart that had a mind of its own. I certainly was hoping curbside pickup with this weight meant that you'd get help. I myself am useless lifting that much weight. So 5 stars for ordering but 1 star for pickup averages to 3 stars. That is probably overly generous because Ontario Home Depot failed on everything they specifically had control over.

Called ahead to have them set aside a tiller for rental, they gave me until 3 pm and took my name. I had to drive about 45 minutes to go to my shop and get a trailer and make it to store. Arrived at 2:50 and they rented it to the man in front of me in line. I explained who I was and that I was there to pick up and rent the tiller and they said they thought the other guy was me, didn't check his name (even though he has to sign a contract with his name and provide an ID), and had already signed the contact and couldn't void it. Manager came over and apologized and offered to have them hold it for me when the man returned it, which could be tomorrow morning or the day after, but that they would call me. Ironic that they asked me to trust them to do a more complicated task then "don't rent this to anyone else until 3 except this person" when they miserably failed at that one. Needless to say I left and won't be returning. I have a Pro account with HD and have spent $10k+ in the last 12 months. No more. Sad that HD is sinking to this level of customer service and cannot provide basic, simple services to their customers without failing.

It's average. Home depot. Blah. Nothing stands out other then like any other store security follows my family because I'm not white. That is old. Once I made fun of him though he actually left us alone to shop.

The ladies at the self checkout lane just sat and gab well my register went off and off and off about customer needing help. Then I got the four bags of salt I needed with no question to see if I needed help loading. Terrible customer service today

I placed an order for in-store pickup on 03/28/20 for 5 bags of raised-bed potting soil, plus some other supplies. I received the message that night just before they closed that my order was ready. My neighbor went today, 3/29/20 to pick the order up for me as I'm immunocompromised. Come to find out, THEY SOLD THE SOIL I HAD ALREADY BOUGHT. The soil they said was held back with the rest of my order! There was none left, and now the store is sold out of the type I needed! They offered no compensation for the hassle, other than refunding the charge for the the soil. And now I have to find somewhere else to get it, and have my neighbor go back out to pick it up, as I can't be out and about during a pandemic. This is absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't be that difficult to NOT SELL something that is ALREADY SOLD. Or at least offer reasonable compensation for the loss that I now have to find a way to replace!
