I am choosing to leave solely because the bill was addressed to me. However, the individual managing the business affairs at Q & A Dental needs either coaching or replacement. After reviewing numerous other reviews, including the response to my husband's previous review, it's unfortunate they continue to prioritize business matters over emergencies. I have dealt with medical offices and insurance companies extensively, and in my experience, handling emergencies should take precedence over resolving billing issues caused by insurance errors, as was the case here. We are appealing and expect it to succeed, but according to our insurance, Q & A Dental could have expedited matters with a simple reconsideration, making the process much smoother.
It's ironic that Q & A Dental never sent a bill until my husband called about his dental emergency, prompting a sudden receipt that dates back to April, highlighting their unprofessionalism. In their haste, they even included another patient's medical record, procedure and bill, a clear violation of HIPAA laws, which we will report to the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
While I sympathize with Dr. Montgomery, he's aware of the ongoing issues with his office's business management and has not taken corrective action. Consequently, we are severing our ties as customers/patients indefinitely and will actively dissuade others from patronizing this establishment. Furthermore, the HIPAA violation raises concerns about their overall compliance and integrity. We strongly advise seeking a dental provider who prioritizes patient care over financial matters. It's common for medical practices to negotiate with insurance companies to resolve disputes promptly, rather than dismissing patients over outstanding balances. This lack of patient-centricity is regrettable and should not be tolerated.

I have deep respect for Dr. Montgomery, who I believe is an exceptional dentist. However, the individual managing his business office lacks empathy. Despite my dental insurance denying a claim and resulting in a balance, no one from the office informed me about it. When I urgently needed dental care due to an emergency, I was told I couldn't be seen until the balance was settled. In severe pain and unaware of any outstanding balance, I expected compassionate care first, with administrative matters addressed later. Unfortunately, she was unwilling to accommodate this.
When I expressed my intention to switch dentists, her response was dismissive, focusing solely on payment. Fortunately, my previous dentist intervened promptly, arranging an appointment with another dentist who could handle my emergency. This level of service during medical emergencies is what I believe should be standard.
After contacting my insurance company and receiving guidance to initiate an appeal, I reached out to Dr. Montgomery's office again. Disappointingly, I was met with a refusal to assist further, suggesting I handle the appeal myself.
Regrettably, I will not return to Dr. Montgomery's practice as long as this individual oversees its business operations.

Today was my first appointment at Q&A, and it was a wonderful experience. Lisa at the front desk Welcoming from the moment, I stepped in, my hygienist Linda was very communicative and thorough, and Dr. Montgomery made me feel very much at ease. The entire staff was very friendly. I will definitely becoming back, and will recommend Q&A.
