I HAD TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AFTER TWO MONTHS
I started my membership June 27th and canceled it August 22nd. What was once a positive experience has DRASTICALLY deteriorated due to the appalling management with specifically Phil. Upon arrival, I encountered an issue with my membership, I signed up online for the black card with the $1 down and $24.99 monthly rate and had yet to pay that price from my duration of time being with this gym. I was being hit with late fees from the time I signed up to the time I had to cancel my membership. The very first payment came out to $41.74 confused, I call up to speak to someone about what I thought to have been an obvious mistake. Who greeted me on this call was a lady by the name Janell, she stated to me that I possibly put in the wrong banking information and to just update it and there shouldn’t be any further issues. Also they wouldn’t be able to refund me on the added on late fee due to them being charged a fee although I think it would’ve been courteous especially with my membership not being a month old yet at that time. Then the end of July a payment comes out for the annual fee (I received a text stating the bank information they had on file was incorrect) So naturally I call again was told this time to come in the gym because sometimes the information doesn’t update on their end. LONG LONG story short I had to come up to this gym THREE DIFFERENT TIMES REGARDING THIS SAME ISSUE. The first time I came the lady (whose name I didn’t get) was very combative trying to insure me that my information I had in was correct when I just received an text an hour before I came in from their finance company “ABC” after showing her screenshots she assured me the issue was fixed and it wasn’t. The 2nd time I came in we went through the same process receiving another late fee I come in again go through the same process this time they are looking at my banking information from my phone and typing it in to their system directly. After all that and it not even being a full 3 months with this gym I see another pending charge WITH AN LATE FEE for the same amount of $41.74, obviously frustrated with this whole process looking for answers as to why all the staff could give me was “I’m not sure you would have to speak to out two managers PHIL OR KIM”. I’ll save the long story of actually trying to get a hold of one of these managers because this review is long enough. Fast forward to finally coming in (now being the 3rd time for the same issue) I ask to speak to the manager that would be in at that time, that manager being Phil.. Phil didn’t even speak to me I had to wait for him to come up front and when he didn’t he clearly had an attitude and said “wassup”. I had print outs from my bank statements along with screenshots and an ongoing note of names of people I spoke with regarding this ongoing issue I had with this gym and billing. Phil cut me off with trying to explain myself and said “yeah I see, they left me a note” (mind you I was told I would receive a call from him and never did I had to call up again to even get in contact with Phil) He disregards everything I’m trying to say and says “yeah what’s your bank information" as if I didn’t come up here on two other different occasions where the same thing was done and nothing changed. After explaining that he replies “well it’s a customer issue, I EVEN TOOK THE TIME OUT OF MY DAY to call ABC and they said it’s your bank” However PF manages to get the money from the card they have on file which is also the bank acc info I was providing. He refused to give me the difference after being wrongly charged yet again. Phil lacked empathy and professionalism leaving me feeling not only frustrated but upset and accused of something that I had physical proof that this was in fact not a “customer issue”. To anyone reading this I urge you to PLEASE save yourself the headache and if you have to sign up? DON’T MAKE MACEDONIA YOUR HOME GYM!

There is nothing I don't like about this gym. It's big. It's clean. The staff is awesome. You can't beat it.

Would be better if Planet Fitness stopped the free summer for teens. They come in occupy machines and play on their phones. How about rewarding your paying customers.

Was pretty good. I feel like other pfs have more weight equipment but you can get a lift in for sure.

We have enjoyed coming to Planet Fitness since it opened in Macedonia. The staff is always friendly and gym is clean. Only complaint is when we joined they were 24 hours operation and our fees did not change when their hours did. Our work schedule limits when we can come. It would be great if they opened at least an hour earlier both during the week and on the weekends. There are always people waiting in the parking lot for doors to open so there’s no lack of interest in early work outs.

Lots of equipment. It's pretty clean except for showers. Curtains could be changed more often.
