I attempted to purchase a vehicle for Matt. I was told on the phone that "everything is operational except the clock". When I asked for confirmation in writing it was a different story. The confirmation in writing contained no specifics about the a/c, although once again he had told me verbally that the a/c was fine. Assuming this was perhaps a simple oversight on his part, I politely asked him to confirm in writing that the a/c was operational. His response? " This is starting to feel strange" (strange to want something confirmed in writing?) and subsequently he has decided not to sell me the car. He also sent me an invoice for a deposit with no corresponding paperwork, no bill of sale, nothing. Just an invoice asking for money. I have been collecting cars for decades. You can do far better than here.

Sales, service, and high attentiveness to detail are all over the top! Harwood has an extensive collection of vehicles for purchase at reasonable collector prices. The Grandmaster of attention to detail is an amazing gentleman. He's totally invested in the restoration of everything he works on. Such craftsmanship. I can't wait for my SUV detailing!

First, let me say that buying and selling classic cars is a very difficult business. That’s based upon my past 15 years of buying 5 classic cars (including 2 through brokers) & 3 through individuals. On 3 purchases I flew over 1000 miles, each, to inspect & purchase the car which the 2 brokers and 1 individual were happy to allow me reasonable time to set up the trip with the understanding they, by verbal agreement, would not sell the car prior to me viewing and/ or purchasing it. Additionally, I have sold 3 of these to individuals. Even very nice cars priced right can be listed on the internet for months & taking lots of crazy calls (will u take 50% off). That said, let me tell u my experience with Harwood over the past 2 days.I saw a really nice ‘40 Ford coupe at a very reasonable $38k. On Tuesday I noticed price had dropped to a great price of $30k so I called & asked Matt (owner) a couple of simple questions on the car & offered $29k (subject to clear title & inspection), which he IMMEDIATELY AGREED TO. Since I am 1200 miles away, he suggested a transport company. Informed him of my experience in buying classics, income & told him i was immediately moving forward on Tuesday to make the purchase. Got good transport quote, called my insurance company for quote, reserved a storage unit in my city to store the car & sold some mutual funds to fund purchase. Biggest issue was getting a local Cleveland area company to do a pre purchase inspection but after literally 10 phone calls was finally able to get someone to agree & provided Matt’s name & phone #. Then called back Matt that afternoon to give him an update on what I’d done to assure him I am a valid purchaser. On Wednesday called Matt in early morning to see if inspector had called which he hadn’t & that’s when it hit the fan as he expressed concern over the fact the inspector had not contacted him within 24 hrs of agreeing on the deal. Told me someone was coming in next day to do inspection (and possible purchase) & when asked about my deal he said: “WE HAVE NO DEAL UNTIL I’M PAID. WHOEVER BRINGS ME CASH FIRST, GETS THE CAR, which i guess he forgot to tell me 24hrs before.Upset, i spoke to his wife that afternoon, who kept mentioning lack of inspector contact ( 30 hrs after our deal) then said they didn’t even have a deposit mainly because I was never told they needed one and which I would have happily given them. I have never in the past required them on my car sales nor been required to pay one on my purchases. We had a decent talk & she even offered to get a local mechanic to do the inspection and she promised to email me with the results of the person traveling to inspect the car the next AFTERNOON. She did that & told me the car was sold on Thursday MORNING which makes me wonder if that was the person which was coming on Thursday afternoon or it was sold before he could inspect it.I am NOT accusing them of being dishonest as I am a 32 year banker & know that dishonest people do not last this long nor have their good reviews. That said, I am saying they have very poor communication about policies & procedures that they employed during very competitive bidding which I have never employed nor encountered in 15 yrs of buying & selling classic cars. You as a buyer need to be aware of this!!

Why would you go anywhere else? You won't overpay, and they will help you get the car of your dreams. Showroom is amazing, if you have not been here before, you are missing out.

I purchased a 1971 nova sight unseen from Harwood Motors. They helped with title transfer, they were super easy to work with. Responsive over text and email. They also assisted with shipping recommendations, and made the whole transaction out of state super easy. The car was in exceptional condition. Thanks!

Absolutely horrible experience. Went to see a Camaro Matt represented as a restored car. Flew from California to Cleveland. During the test drive the vehicle would not run correctly it stalled. Once started he dangerously took off sliding all over the road. His anger was apparent in the way he drove and treated the vehicle. Once we returned he said what a piece of s*** the car was and stormed off like a child and never came back. After spending nearly 3k on flights and hotels based on his word that it was a good restored car. All I got was a email apology. Don't walk run from this business! I would give himNo stars if the app would let me but it won't. I have to say the most unprofessional-childish behavior I have ever experienced!
