Do not buy the “Premium” 5/4 decking boards from McCabe’s. They are charging premium prices and these are #2 boards at best. Not like you can sort through an entire stack of decking upon delivery either. I decided not to go with Home Depot for obvious reasons but I’m sorry I didn’t. Their premium boards are far superior. First pic is McCabe “premium” decking and the second pick is Home Depot. You be the judge.

I am very unhappy with McCables. We had problems with the first contract we hired. I went to McCable asking if they knew of any good trustable contractors. They gave us Cincy Deck Pros. This company was so bad that they did not even know how to use the material correctly. They had mushroomed our deck because they did not pre drill, they had to make the steps twice, top of the deck was wrong they had to redo that 3 times and they stole material from us. The list goes on but I don't have that kind of time. I want back to McCable because when I asked them about the contractor they keep telling me they would make it right. In the end they did nothing. I don't know if this is how mc cable gets you to buy more material. I think it's sad. Be careful when asking them for anything. At the end of the day they are just sales men. Not a reliable company like they made it seem.

Probably the best lumber company in the city. Plenty of salespeople and warehouse guys to serve you. Quick quotes on materials. Costs more than box store but they understand projects and specialty remodeling situations.

As a contractor, McCabe is the only place we order large orders of lumber from. Today, we placed a small order with Matt and came to pick it up an hour later. Staff was super friendly and brought the wood outside to my father-in-law who was not comfortable driving through the warehouse. Excellent wood! The store was so interesting to walk through, they had much more than I could have imagined. Also i should mention, my fiancé purchased wood through Tim Lawless years ago and had such a great experience that he still remembers his name and asks about him every time we place an order.

Mike was my delivery driver today. I have been building decks for a very long time and he has brought numerous loads of lumber to me throughout the years.. he is always in a good mood and always excellent at what he does. He never damages the driveway or material. Just a breath of fresh air..

All our big home projects I’ve ordered through McCabe. I like that they store everything indoors. I’ve been a basket case after dealing with getting hit with a tornado in March and I appreciate their patience when I’ve been cranky, Jason Baer just helped with a recent order and got my exterior door faster than any store I called around about to order. It’s greatly appreciated the fast efforts he did with helping order our door specially after calling Carter Lumber and them taking their sweet time with minimal help. Lesson learned I will continue to order through McCabe.
