Delightful coconut avalanche ice cream. They even shipped washboards to Tanzania and all over the world!!! A great cultural experience in Americana: kazoo's, canjo's, and salves!!!

Came to check it out to be able to share about it in social media and my website. Wanted to take a tour and offered to pay for the minimum number needed (we had a party of 2) and needed 2 more. The worker said no. She was unfriendly to start with and seemed bothered when we made our purchase of local products. The store its self has a lot of washboards and you can see the second largest one in the world. Not a ton to see there if you can't do a tour.

I must say we did not expect to stumble upon this place, but are very glad we did! We walked in for the ice cream then saw a group of folks playing washboards as musical instruments in the back. If you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind place, this is it. The employees were very helpful in educating us and they sell a wide variety of local products. Worth a stop if you're in the Hocking Hills area!

Walked in and staff completely ignored us. There was only one other person in store. We left after walking around briefly. Wouldn’t waste time going there. Unfriendly, disappointing.

We came for the ice cream and stayed for the washboard museum. The staff was great! Super friendly and chatty. We all ordered ice cream and then viewed the antique washboards. The woman scooping ice cream gave us a bunch of trivia about washboards and why glass was used, various era information, and that they are the last manufacturer of these devices. They still make both functional washboard equipment and musical washboards.

Purchased for hand washing clothes. If you are getting for musical instrument I’m sure it would be fine. Wouldn’t recommend for washing laundry though. The bottoms legs (that sit in the water) have already molded after a few months of use. Washboard has always been properly cared for, after I’m done washing, it is dried out before putting away. I was excited to use these washboards as they are the last company handmaking them in the US but I was disappointed with the wood quality.

This place has a few owners but is primarily run by 4 women. I hope I get all of my facts straight, but they are the last washboard manufacturer in the US! Several different sizes and it was great to see them put together. They offer tours, sales, a really cute ice cream stand and more. They've been featured on WOSU and I think the history channel. People still order for off the grid living, decoration, and one other reason. I forget that one sorry! They also have a map with pins of every location they've shipped to! (Near Siberia was a pin I found to be neato). This sort of labor of love is worth supporting. Finding owners in house who care about their customers and their trade is reason enough for me to stop every time I'm in town. You should to.

There wasn’t much to see. When asking about the business and the tours that are offered, the associate at Shorty’s ice cream was hesitant about giving me information and told me times that were different from the ones listed online. They very well could’ve changed! However, there was nothing to exciting. They did have a sample lotion that was great, but other than that nothing.

Took a tour in May. Tour was around 30 minutes. During the tour, washboards were not being made (no active equipment was on). The person doing the tour was knowledgeable. In the shop, they do have minis and a bargain bin for washboard. They also have glass (made locally) starting at $4.99. Overall, unique as last spot left in US where they are made. Also you can get minis at a pretty reasonable cost ($11.99).

I have wanted to go for several years, finally made a visit during the annual Washboard Arts and Music Festival. Both the festival and "factory" are underwhelming. Glad I went but wish I had gone to see the older factory down the street- still there and worth seeing the largest washboard mounted on the outside wall. The present "factory" is more touristy with an ice cream shop and other items in the front and the washboards are assembled in the back. Worth a visit if you are in the Hocking Hills and have time away from hiking. The downtown Logan area is a nice old style small downtown with shops and restaurants.

Cute little place to check out, neat items for sale, ice cream shop there too! Enjoyed seeing all the old washboards and being able to try them out and make some “music” ?

We took the tour of this factory (the last in the US). At first, walking down the steps to the basement level, I was a bit skeptical of what the tour would have in store, but our guide was wonderful and personable. The tour was interesting. You get to hear about the history of the company, see the tools and machines used over the years, watch as a washboard is made (if they aren’t busy, they even offer to make one for you to buy and take with you), and learn about washboard music. There is a store and a consignment area.

We literally fell upon this very unique place when walking down the Main Street of Logan. The owner of the company Jackie greeted us at the door and was such a warm, personable and passionate person who showed us her amazing collection of antique washboards and how washboards are still made today at this new location into which they moved only a few months ago. You can’t be too old or too young to appreciate this unique place and a product that is a rare find today. The company generously donated many washboards to our troops in the Mideast where they were actively used and much appreciated. Such great history surrounding a beautiful, simple, low-tech product that is still sold and made exclusively in the USA! This special place is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
