On 8/20/2022 Lane's Allied Movers from Lima Ohio arrived punctually to load my 3800+ square foot house full of my precious items on their semi. I was impressed with the professionalism and care given my possessions by Todd, Jolene, Tracy and Haley. They worked very well as a team, were pleasant and respectful to my belongings, myself and each other. I am so very pleased and only wish that I had found them before being scammed by "a top rated online broker." I am very satisfied and grateful for their professionalism and for alleviating my anxiety.

My wife and I stored our entire home with lanes for 12months! Everything in storage was exactly how we left it, when the guys came to unload they were very professional and well mannered. We don't plan on moving ever again but if we do we will be calling!!!!

I used Lane's for unloading/loading and storage for 10 months. It was an absolutely terrible experience from beginning to end, from the current owner of the company, to the men who do the manual labor. During the unloading, they complained the entire time, were not careful or cautious with our items, and sat in our antique chairs to "take breaks" in the warehouse. Our mattresses were not stored correctly --they should have been laid flat-- and the springs are now ruined after

Our mattresses were not stored correctly --they should have been laid flat-- and the springs are now ruined after ten months in storage due to the way they stored them. When they loaded our truck, our items were not secure, most importantly our solid cherry Thomasville dining table, that was just "set" in the back of the truck without being secured. When we arrived to our new home, we discovered that one of the table legs had snapped. We also discovered that they had neglected to load our sofa-- and our move was a 4 hour trip. Nothing was compensated, no apologies were made, and there was a complete and utter lack of care or concern for customer service-- including from the owner of the company. When they brought the couch to us nearly a week later, they decided it wouldn't fit down the stairs without measuring anything or truly attempting it. By that point, I was fed up with their service and had them put it in the living room and leave. It's truly a shame that this company is no longer what it was built to be. They aren't trustworthy, or dependable, and their prices are FAR too high to be putting up with this sort of nonsense. Save yourself grief and do not use Lane's Moving.

In December 2020, I moved 1600 miles across the country, took a few of my things, and planned to move the rest this spring when I sold my house. Feb. 2021, I called Lane's and told them my house was going on the market sooner than expected, that about half of my stuff was in boxes, that I would be flying back into town and asked if they could do an estimate. I was assured that it would be "very accurate", and even though things weren't packed, that Mark could still estimate how many boxes it would be. He came out, scanned boxes, we walked through the entire house. Everything we were taking was either in the basement or the garage. The rest of the rooms were empty, as we were getting ready to lay new carpet before the house sold. In April 2021, I called them to schedule the move and told them 90% of the stuff was now packed in the garage. They scheduled pick up for April 30 (Friday). On May 3rd, they called to give me the final total and it is $2,700 higher than the estimate. Mark has given me nothing but excuses as to why he missed on the estimate by 3,000lbs...said there is nothing in his estimate about items in the basement and he never went down there. When I corrected him and said that I DID take him down to the basement, he said there was too much stuff in the house, that he was unsure/confused about what was going and what wasn't, that he was confused and maybe he included the items in the basement with the ones in the garage. Nothing was ever mentioned to me about confusion during the original quote and no one ever suggested that they come out to re-scan after everything was boxed and in the garage. He has told me they are too busy, that they can't keep up with the demand, that he wished I would've called someone else for a quote, that he is going out and doing quotes to decide if they will even take the job or not. Regardless, neither Lane's or Allied has been willing to make it right so far, my stuff will arrive in 48 hours and we are left to come up with the additional $2,700...

We have now used Lane's Moving three times and are 100% happy! The movers are extremely hard working and very polite! This time they moved us in 10 inches of snow and never complained and moved just as fast as they did in summer weather! Thank you SO MUCH!

Mark Bowsher the sales manager gave us an estimate to move us just across town. When he gave us the estimate he never said anything about boxes or bins without lids and he marked all my very costly 300 board feet of Hickory as " 1 lumber ". Well the movers left all our boxes and bins with no lids, left my lumber, left pieces of a very large entertainment center in the driveway, then had the nerve to charge us overtime. We will never recommend them again nor use them if needed.

I interviewed three agents for national interstate movers when planning my move from Lima to the northwestern U.S. Lane's Moving & Storage is an agent for both Allied (primary) and North American (secondary). Mark Bowsher is the owner/rep for the company and he came out to perform the household inventory and prepare an estimate. Mark spend over 1.5 hrs inventorying our possessions while providing all sorts of helpful advice in the process. He even named the local competitors I could check out to see who was best positioned with space in their schedule for my move! He uses a bar code system to input the items and estimated boxes into the quote, then before he leaves he prints out the inventory and provides a quote. Lane's can provide warehouse storage as well as moving services across the country. Mark also contacted the Allied agent in my destination city and received quotes for storage there (versus Lima), providing me with competitive pricing. Lane's also provides a single point of contact in their office to continuously coordinate moving activities with the customer. Mark provided a not-to-exceed price based upon the survey, which is critical for price control, and recommended ways I could save money by buying specialized boxes and packing selective items myself. Although Mark was not the lowest price, I found him very competent, knowledgeable, and professional and the company seems to be run well. My experience with Lane's during the quoting process was outstanding and I would have no reservations about contracting with them for a long distance move (or local for that matter).

Do not waste your money. Is an overpriced company that will show up late (over 2 hours late) and not bring the necessary equipment (Pads ect.) and then tell you to go buy it for your move. They also did not estimate the right size truck for my move and tried to tell me it was my fault. Not to mention they ran out of time to unload and had to come back the next day. I would use 2 men and a Truck any day before spending premium money for mediocre service. Never again satan!!

Lane's Moving & Storage moved us in August 2018. Mark, the sales manager, came to our home and provided an estimate. He also assured me how accurate his estimates are. That he "has done this a long time and I will be shocked how accurate his estimate will be to the actual cost". His estimate was nearly $800 under the actual cost and we moved A LOT of the items he estimated ourselves. His estimate was easily $1000 under what we actually had to pay. We added them packing our items based on his estimate and assurances as to how accurate it would be. We would have never added the pack if we had an accurate estimate. When I tried to call and talk to him about the huge discrepancy he never returned my calls or emails. Terrible customer service.

Lane moved us 08/18 and the guys that moved us were great. They worked incredibly hard to pack and move us. Our issue is not with them. Our issue is with the guy that came over to estimate the job. He assured us that his estimate was very close to what it should cost because he had been doing this for so long. My wife moved the entire kitchen to our new house so that was one room in the estimate that they didn't have to move. We also left the washer and dryer at the old house and they had those in the estimate. When the movers were done and ready to leave the bill was increased by 25%. That's right the final be was increased by 25%. When we called to ask the reason for the increase because my wife had moved one of the rooms in the estimate. We received no call back. It has been 6 weeks now and they have not returned our calls. We will never use lane again. Beware if you use lane and know that the customer service it not good. If we hear from lane in the future about this we will post it here. But for now they get 1 star.
