We are looking to move my ira and some savings cash. We are speaking with 3-4 places with an established name. This was our second place to check out. We compared this to our first established. We left the first place very interested and impressed. I left Schwab somewhere between offended and angry. The office was very small and only a few employees. We met with a nice-looking young man. He claimed Schwab was known for lower rates. He handed us an information handout and we made several notes on it. Then he informed us that is just for glancing at ..for in office use.. we cant take it. Wtf. The fees were actually higher than the other place and offering less incentive pay. He spoke over our head and couldnt read the room but he was young and probably inexperienced. The other place printed us out 2 folders of info ..offered more incentive money and didnt speak over our heads . I left Schwab feeling their policy to not provide allocation history was shady. they didn't give us anything. Did get a bottle of water out of it. My husband started making notes on another piece of paper but I said we are done. The ira is mine and the cash is ours. Either way, didn't leave wanting to deal with this company again.

I was a current Schwab customer that sent a request for a meeting discuss additional investing options. Waited 4 weeks with no response. Closed all accounts and transferred my balances to competitor that was much more response and valued customers. Will never go back.

After dealing with an incompetent, unresponsive, and high fee company (AXA), Charles Schwab has been a breath of fresh air. Low fees, no pressure, and most important, a knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and professional staff. Wished we had come here years ago.
